Fate is a funny thing. It has a way of bringing people together, no matter how absurd it sounds. Yi Sook is supposed to be in his station, briefing his fellow officers. I would have been at the Hotel, welcoming and sending-off guests. Mr. Do Hwan, well he would have never met me. There would be another person managing the hotel and probably would have done a better job.
However, fate decided for us to be in this room together, fighting off a malevolent force with no weapon, nothing but fake courage armed. Each of us, ready to sacrifice ourselves for each other, when in an alternate timeline, we would be near strangers. A small decision we made, brought us together. People called it the butterfly effect. I didn't believe a small decision, however insignificant at the time, could change the course of one's life, until now.
Is there any way I could have changed the outcome of the night? If I hadn't met Do Hwan, would the rest have been saved?

"Ah, Jung Ae Ra!" Aghui's voice resonated in the empty hotel. Yi Sook held the Glock with both of his hands and shot thrice at Aghui. The bullet pierced through Aghui's skin, and Aghui fell back, her hands and feet sprawl across the floor. Ae Ra rushed to the rubble crushing Do Hwan and frantically removed as much of it as she could. Do Hwan groaned, brushing off the rocks and dust on him. Ae Ra watched Do Hwan get up and sighed in relief.

Aghui meanwhile was on the floor, her expression hardened. Yi Sook gently lowered his gun, satisfied. Do Hwan stood up with Ae Ra's help and watched Aghui's body, still on the floor.
"Is she.. you know?" Ae Ra wondered to Do Hwan.
"I will not die of your puny human contraptions, Jung Ae Ra." Aghui roared in laughter. She got up from the stupor, put her fingers into the hole the bullet had gone into and took out a battered bullet. Ae Ra held on to Do Hwan's hand, watching Aghui take out the remaining bullets from her body.
"This is the best you have got?" Aghui sneered at Yi Sook. Yi Sook clutched his gun tighter. Before Aghui could raise her hands, Do Hwan threw huge rubble at Aghui. She gently moved, the rubble narrowly missing her.
"Kim Do Hwan, you never learn, do you? You cannot kill me. Your absurd tactics are futile."
"Doesn't mean I can't try them, though." Do Hwan grinned ominously. Aghui tilted her head, her gaze traveled to all three in the room with her.

"You know you cannot defeat me and yet you try. Human beings are the worst nuisance my mother conceived." She shook her head. "And you, Kim Do Hwan, you are the pinnacle of this imbecility."
"Don't listen to her, Do Hwan." Yi Sook muttered. Do Hwan looked at Yi Sook shifting the position of the gun in his hand. Aghui cackled watching Do Hwan's expression harden.
"Yeah, don't listen to me, Kim Do Hwan." She teased. "I am a villainess, remember?"
Yi Sook shot at Aghui's head, the bullet however ricocheted off her head and onto a pillar. Aghui shook her head, clicking her tongue.
"I am not talking to you, filthy mortal." Aghui shrieked. "You should be thankful Do Hwan is even on your side. Am I not right, Kim Do Hwan?"

"Now!" Chan Seong motioned Kyung and Mrs. Park with his hand. They stretched their arms to either side of their body and waved their arms gently. With their movement, the chandelier from the ceiling began unscrewing, to fall directly on the gloating Aghui below.
"Just a little more, Kyung." Mrs. Park stated, watching Kyung turning anxious. He nodded and continued to move his arms.
Chan Seong looked down at Do Hwan ready to blast Aghui, but Aghui looked unbothered. Her eyes darted upwards, locking eyes with Chan Seong. Her mouth curved upwards, a wicked smile spread across her face.
"The other dog my mother owned. Goo Chan Seong, you are still lingering in this stupid Guest House?"
Chan Seong stepped backward. At that minute, the chandelier unscrewed.

The chandelier fell on Aghui at an incredible speed. Do Hwan shielded Ae Ra from the shattering glass pieces. Chan Seong flinched at the impact.
"Did it work?" Kyung stammered out.
"No, it did not." A voice growled from behind. Kyung turned wide-eyed, to see Aghui unscathed. She lifted Kyung by his neck and flung him out the railing. Mrs. Park lunged at Aghui. Aghui smirked and caught her mid-air.
"They are ghosts, Chan Seong." She said, tightening her long fingers around Mrs. Park's throat. "They cannot die again. The same cannot be said about you."
"Mr. Goo, Run!" Mrs. Park breathed out.
