"How did Manager Jung do on her first day?" Do Hwan questioned Kyung when he visited the office after Ae Ra left work. Hotel Blue Moon finally felt complete, and the guest check-ins quadrupled. Do Hwan was pleased, but at the same time, the guests entering the hotel weren't in their best shape. He wondered if Ae Ra kept up with the unpleasant issues presented by them.
"She did okay, sir. I can't help but think she was overwhelmed. I mean.. this is her first time after all." Kyung said, sheepishly. Do Hwan looked up from his desk.
"What do you mean? Did something happen?" He asked, while Kyung scratched his head.
"No no nothing major.. it's just that.." Kyung trailed off. Do Hwan watched with a blank expression.
"She may have asked her first guest if she wanted revenge." Kyung said, hanging his head. Do Hwan immediately tensed.
"She asked.. if they wanted revenge?" Do Hwan asked, slowly. Kyung shook his head.
"I don't think she meant anything by it. I could have probably misheard." Kyung tried defending Are Ra. Do Hwan bit his cheek.
"Kyung, call the guest Ae Ra invited in. I'll have a talk with them myself." Kyung took his cue to leave and bowed. He took a few steps back and started sprinting, as if he's running for his dear life.
Do Hwan leaned back his chair. "What is Ae Ra playing at? On her first day nevertheless.." Do Hwan wondered out loud.Kyung ran across the decorated hallways, searched the room he gave for the guest and ran again to find her.
Seo Ye Ji, unaware of the commotion she may have a part in, was sleeping peacefully. She had had a wonderful day at the spa inside the hotel, and the gash on her head was disappearing. However, her sleep was cut short by the loud knock on her door, followed by someone calling her name.
She opened the door, ready to bite the person's head off for disturbing her. The door boy who welcomed her was standing there, panic evident in his face.
"Miss, The Owner would like to have a meeting with you. Can you please come to his office?"
"Why does he want to see me?" She asked, tentatively.
"I don't know, ma'am. Now if you'd follow me.." Kyung said, spreading her arms as if he was leading her out. Ye Ji sighed and walked out, following him.
*
Do Hwan leaned back on his chair and closed his eyes, thinking. He had trusted Ae Ra, in fact, she was the first person he did. Then why did she do such thing? Do Hwan's mind raced, he flinched, not understanding the motive behind her asking a guest for revenge. He took out his phone, hands hovering over the call button, questioning whether to just call her. Do Hwan simply exhaled. Just then, the door swung open, revealing Kyung and a woman behind him. Do Hwan put down his phone and watched them enter.
Kyung bowed, Do Hwan nodded. "Sir, this is the guest we were talking about." The woman turned to look at Kyung, confused.
"I don't understand.. what is going on?" She asked, looking at Do Hwan now. Do Hwan motioned Kyung to leave. As Kyung backed out of the office, Do Hwan faced the woman.
"I'm sorry for the inconvenience, ma'am. There is something I would like to discuss with you. Please, take a seat." The woman sat down reluctantly, watching Do Hwan clench his fists.*
"Let me begin with, your name?" Do Hwan asked.
"Seo Ye Ji"
Do Hwan looked through Kyung's register and frowned when he found her name.
"Death by murder?" He asked, Seo Ye Ji nodded.
"Is that why Miss Jung proposed revenge to you?" Do Hwan asked, slowly. Ye Ji shook her head.
"No. I was the one who went to her " Do Hwan looked up, surprised.
"Please, elaborate?"
Ye Ji clasped her fingers, clearly nervous. Do Hwan sighed.
"Ma'am, this is a serious matter. Either you tell me, or I'll have to find out the hard way." Ye Ji gulped.
"Well, Miss Jung was really nice to me when I first came.. even though she looked nervous, I felt like I could trust her." She looked at Do Hwan, before do Hwan gestured her to go on.
"I was.. killed by my husband and.. I just wanted to scare him.. that's all. But Miss Jung was clearly against it." Do Hwan's ears perked.
"She told me it was a bad idea and that I should let it go.. but I kept pestering. In the end she just said that if I took revenge I will cease to exist." Ye Ji sniffled.
"All I really want is to save my son. He's in my husband's custody and.." Ye Ji sobbed. "I just want him to be safe."
Do Hwan seemed confused now. "If Miss Jung said no to revenge, then it should have been the end, right?" Ye Ji shook her head.
"She just said me to not intervene, but that she will take care of it." Do Hwan stood up.
"Did she say what she was gonna do?" Ye Ji shook her head again.
"She just asked for my address, and that was it."
Do Hwan rubbed his temples, distressed. He then looked at Seo Ye Ji and bowed.
"I'm sorry to have troubled you. I will take care of this from now." Ye Ji nodded and bowed back.
