Yi Sook leaned back on his chair. "No records?" His lips twitched. Detective Han nodded.
"Ask around in the hotel he supposedly works in. If he doesn't have any records, nothing, how did they hire him? If he really works there that is." Detective Han took out his notepad and took down what Yi Sook was saying.
"Yes sir, I will look into this." Detective Han saluted and left, leaving a confused Yi Sook.
"Who are you, Kim Do Hwan? Does Ae Ra know you?" Yi Sook muttered, frowning.

Yi Sook took out his phone and dialed Ae Ra's number. The phone rang for a while with no answer, Yi Sook walked around, clutching his phone. Finally Ae Ra picked up.
"Hello.." Said her voice, as if she had just woken up.
"Ae Ra, where are you?" Yi Sook asked, gritting his teeth.
"I'm at home, my shift just ended. Why?"
"I need to talk to you. Shall I come by your home now?"
"Is it urgent?" Ae Ra asked, yawning.
"Yes." Yi Sook replied, getting on his car. "It is."

As Yi Sook drove to Ae Ra's home, he couldn't stop thinking about Do Hwan and Ae Ra. I mean, it is one thing to hang out with someone who could be dangerous, and it is other thing to not to know about it. "Does Ae Ra know about him, or is she clueless?" Yi Sook said out loud, still focused on driving. "Why would she hide it from me, then?" Yi Sook rubbed his forehead.
This is the first time Ae Ra even came to him to report something, and a murder nevertheless. Now this Do Hwan issue, got him thinking.

Yi Sook parked his car in front of Ae Ra's apartment, hesitating for a moment. He had to confront her, but didn't know how to. He sighed, now thinking of an excuse to just leave, without talking to her. Like a miracle, his phone rang. He took it out, to be surprised to see Detective Han calling.
"Yes, Detective Han?" Yi Sook answered.
"Sir, there is a development on the case. Our team member who went undercover had contact with the Mayor's henchman. Apparently he couldn't stop bragging about shady stuff he did for the Mayor."
Yi Sook immediately shifted. "Do we have anything connecting him to the murder of Mayor's wife?"
Detective Han paused for a second then replied. "He didn't directly say about the murder, but we can still apprehend him for corruption."
"Right, but this case will go to the anti-corruption cell. Are there other cases we can tie him to?" Yi Sook pinched his forehead.
Detective Han's end was silent. Yi Sook sat there, waiting patiently.
"He just bragged about his connection with Mayor on the real-estate murder! Shall we bring him in?"
"Bingo!" Yi Sook hit his steering wheel. "Bring him in discreetly to our safe house. I'll be in there soon."
Yi Sook looked up at Ae Ra's apartment. "Our conversation has to wait, Ae Ra." He mumbled before he took off, now his mind on the case.

"For god's sake, I didn't do anything!" The man cried, shaking the handcuffs on his hand.
Yi Sook's team was able to move the Mayor's henchman without much hassle, mainly due to him being piss drunk. Getting him to the safe house without any of their higher officials knowing was the biggest task, but they managed to take him to the outskirts of Yannam-dong in Seoul.

"Well, you seemed to brag a lot about your work with the Mayor, so we took a special interest to it." Detective Han replied calmly. The man flinched.
"I didn't say anything! Now let me go!!" He screamed. Detective Han smirked.
"We have an audio recording of you talking a lot about the Mayor." The man's eyes widened, but Detective Han continued without paying attention to him. " We also have the video recording. Do you still want to say you didn't say anything?"

Yi Sook entered the room and smiled at Detective Han, who just nodded before turning to the man.
"With all the evidence we have, we can nail you and you won't get parole in at least 3 years. Or you can tell us what you know about Mayor and your dealings with him, so we can reconsider. What do you say?"
The man's eyes shifted and his lips trembled. He slowly looked up to see the detectives who were waiting patiently with a smile on their faces.
