Chan Seong took the steering wheel in one hand while the other fumbled around, looking for his cellphone. He noticed Ae Ra from his driving mirror, partially crying and talking to Yi Sook. His mind was not paying enough attention to listen to them talking. As soon as his hand found the cellphone, he frantically dialed his friend's number. After a painfully long time of ringing, he finally picked up.
"Sanchez!! Where are you?" Chan Seong inquired in panic.
"Hey, you are calling after a month but you don't even say a hello, huh?" Sanchez joked. Chan Seong huffed in frustration.
"This is very serious, you need to tell me where are you?"
Sanchez finally realized the urgency in his friend's voice. "Hey, Chan Seong, are you okay?"
"I am okay, but.. a friend of mine.. he is in danger. We need to get him to a hospital, but there shouldn't be an issue."
"Chan Seong, why would it be an issue?"  Sanchez was now worried.
"Please, just tell me where to take him!" Chan Seong yelled in frustration, immediately apologetic.
Sanchez seemed to think for a moment. "How far are you from St. Mary's?"
"I am in Seocho I dong.. turning right now." Chan Seong replied.
"Good. I will talk to the professor there, he is a friend. I am leaving for the hospital right now."
"Thank you, thank you, Sanchez. I will owe you, big time!" Chan Seong cut the call and stepped firmly on the gas. The car sped through the deserted road.
"Where is everybody?" Ae Ra exclaimed through tears, and one hand on Yi Sook's chest. His labored breathing more evident now. "Yi Sook is losing too much blood." Now her attention back on him.
"Turn right. Your destination is in 500 meters." The GPS lady boomed. "How is Yi Sook?" Chan Seong asked, half turning his head. When Ae Ra didn't reply, he continued. "It's okay, we are almost here."

They turned into the hospital gates and when they reached the entrance to the ER, they saw a stretcher and few nurses waiting for them. Chan Seong brought the car to the halt, and as if a wheel on motion, everybody swiftly assumed their positions, ready to transfer Yi Sook.
Ae Ra quickly exited, and immediately two nurses pushed through, gently transferring Yi Sook to the stretcher. Yi Sook let out a feeble groan.
"H-He is stabbed through the back.." Ae Ra stated the obvious, in a nervous wreck. Chan Seong assisted the nurses and Yi Sook was brought into the hospital. Ae Ra stood outside and noticed Yi Sook's blood on her hands, her shirt was soaked and it also stained her pants. Everything in her brain was in slow-motion. Quickly, however, Ae Ra took control of her mind and began rushing to the hospital.
"He is going into hemorrhagic shock, quickly!" The doctor shouted, guiding the flock of nurses to the Operating Room. Ae Ra tried to follow but a male nurse interjected her.
"What is his blood type??" He asked in a hurry. For a moment, it seemed like Ae Ra's brain had shut down. "Ma'am, time is of the essence! What is his blood type?"
"B- B... it's B positive!" Ae Ra replied in complete shock. The nurse thanked her and ran off somewhere.

Ae Ra's leg gave out under her, and she fell to the cold floor of the hospital corridor. In between sobbing, she looked at the room Yi Sook was in, thinking why it couldn't have been her instead of him.

Sanchez hurried inside the hospital, looking around for Chan Seong, and he found him sitting in the visitor's area with blood-stained clothes. Beside him was a girl, who looked far worse than him.
"Chan Seong!" Sanchez called out, rushing to his friend. Chan Seong looked up startled, and when he saw Sanchez, his eyes immediately welled up. He ran to hug but stopped as to not get any blood on Sanchez. Sanchez however, didn't care and just wrapped his arms around Chan Seong. As if this turned on a switch, Chan Seong sobbed uncontrollably.
"Hey, what's wrong? You are safe now, it's okay.." Sanchez tried to console him but to no avail.

Once he calmed down, Chan Seong tried to explain as much as he could. With each word, Sanchez had more questions than answers.
"You went back to Del Luna? Why didn't you tell me?" Sanchez was obviously upset. He looked at Ae Ra's swollen face and clothes and decided not to press more.
"Both of you should go change. I will stay here and wait for the doctors to finish." Sanchez said, rubbing his forehead. When he looked up, he realized that they haven't left yet.
"You cannot both stay here looking like this, what will people think? Don't worry, I will handle everything here." Sanchez got up suddenly remembering something, handing Chan Seong his car keys.  "I'm sure your car is all bloody, just take mine. Go to my house and freshen up. The operation will take hours at least." Chan Seong looked at Ae Ra's state and decided they both need this.
