The sound of the front door slamming shut knocks me out of my daze. I look around me and see pictures of Sebastian at different ages hung up on the wall. There are also pictures with an older man who looks just like Sebastian and a beautiful woman with long blonde hair. They must be Sebastian's parents. As I carefully ascend the stairs, I study each picture as I go along.

There's a picture of a young Sebastian with his Dad at a baseball game. In the picture, they're wearing huge grins on their faces. Next, I see a family portrait. In this, a teenage Sebastian stands behind both his parents. He's so tall that he towers over his mother and he's at least 2 inches taller than his dad. What strikes me is that in every picture I can feel the happiness and love emitting through the camera. It's obvious that they all hold a great love for one another.

I finally reach the top of the stairs to enter into a hallway that splits off into 2 directions. I lean against the wall for a minute to catch my breath. I need to pee and my thigh is throbbing in pain. I think back to where I left the pain meds and remember that they were packed away into the suitcase. The suitcase downstairs. I can't go back down when it took so much effort to climb up here.

I'm deciding which direction to go into when I hear a dog's bark from the end of the hallway to my left. I jump in surprise as I catch sight of a huge German shepherd leaning out of a bedroom doorway. It slowly stalks up to me while emitting a menacing growl and baring it's teeth. The dog looks wild and feral with its unwashed grey coat.

How did a stray dog get into the house? Oh my God, it's going to attack me. I can't shift on account of my leg so I quickly scan the area around me looking for a weapon but I find nothing to defend myself with. The only things in the hallway are pictures hanging on the walls. I grab one picture from the wall and slowly walk backwards in the opposite direction with it held in front of my body.

"Hi! Who's a good dog! Don't bite me doggy! Whose a good boy! Go away now! Go home doggy!" I say it the most cheery voice. I'm just guessing it's a boy.

By now, it's less than 5 feet away and I can see its canines. I'm trying to move faster but my leg just won't cooperate. I don't want to hurt it but if it does lunge at me, I will whack it with the picture. It stalks me into a wall and I'm sure it's about to lunge for me when suddenly it stops growling and it's ears lift up from it's head. It continues to walk to me but this time I don't detect a threat. I relax marginally when suddenly its lunges at me and we both fall to the ground. The picture falls from my hands to crash onto the carpeted floor and I let out a scream.

"Aaaahhhhhh!" I panic for a second before I realize that it's not biting or scratching me. Its licking me and I'm covered in dog slobber. I'm lying flat on the floor with this wild dog on top of me licking my face.

"What the hell?" I say in a strangled voice. The dog is lying on my chest vigorously licking at my face and neck. I try with all my might to shift him off me but he is too heavy. I'm thinking about dying under this stray dog when the weight over my chest is lifted.

"Pie! Get off her! Bad boy! Are you alright?" I hear a woman say. I blink a couple times before I sit up. The woman looks like an older female version of Sebastian. She's got the same hazel eyes with the same dark hair but for a few strands of grey. She's looking at me with concern while holding onto the dog, Pie, by its scruff.

"Yes. I'm fine. Thank you so much. I thought I was going to pass out." I smile at her just to reassure her. Pie is still straining against her hold wanting to lunge at me again.

"Oh God. I'm so sorry. Pie doesn't usually do that to strangers. Only Sebastian. He must of caught his scent on you."

"You mean that's Sebastian's dog?" I ask incredulously. It looks completely wild.
