Through the Well

Chapter ~17~

I rose up and gave Inuyasha a chaste kiss. I know I shouldn't tell Inuyasha I am going to be alright, because I know that my aura is darkening and that I will probably be consumed by the darkness soon. I just wanted to make him feel better. I know when the time comes Inuyasha is going to hurt the most, and I just want him to know that I love him, no matter what I do, no matter what anybody says to me I will always love him.

"Will you stay with me?" I ask, yawning the Foxglove that the old man gave me was very strong and I was getting tired again.

"Of course," Inuyasha says and lays down next to me.

He kisses my forehead and wraps his arms around me. I close my eyes and fall asleep.

~~Dream Sequence~~ no POV

"Has your darkness taken over her purification powers and soul yet?" Naraku asks, his red beady eyes glaring at Ankoku. Naraku sat against the wall, one leg bent his arm rested against it.

"No yet Master, her soul is very strong but I assure you, that I will be able to absorb them. Her soul is beginning to weaken," Ankoku says.

"Be sure to," Naraku hisses. "The plan to kill Inuyasha and his friends using Kagome will not work unless you get control of Kagome."

"Do not worry my master, I will have control of her in no time," Ankoku says bowing before leaving the dark room.

~~End of Dream Sequence~~

I gasp awake, and Inuyasha is awake grabbing my shoulders as I start to cry. No, Ankoku is going to take over me and make me kill Inuyasha and Shippo and Miroku and Sango and Doru.

"Kagome, what's wrong? Are you in pain?" Inuyasha asks frantically.

"An... Ankoku is going to make me k...kill you and t...the others," I say sobbing.

"Kagome, calm down and talk to me, only me," Inuyasha says and takes my face into his palms.

I take a deep breath trying to calm myself, after a few deep breaths I nod and Inuyasha lowers his hands from my cheeks and to my shoulders. "I know why Naraku ordered Ankoku to take over my purification powers and soul."

"Why?" Inuyasha asks.

"Ankoku is going to take over my body and make me kill you and the other. Everyone. Shippo, Sango, Doru, and Miroku," I say feeling my eyes well up with my tears.

"Kagome do not worry. We are going to make it to the priestess in the Northern Mountains," Inuyasha emphases on the we are.

I nod and cling onto Inuyasha's neck.

I hear Shippo move around and a yawn escapes his mouth. "Mama what's wrong? Why are you crying?"

"Nothing wrong, Shippo. Mama's fine," I say picking him up.

"Mama I don't like to see you cry," Shippo reaches up and wipes the tears from off my cheeks.

"Shippo, Mama just had a nightmare is all," Inuyasha says and rubs Shippo's hair.

"Mama, you're going to be okay," Shippo says and falls asleep again on my shoulder.

"You are going to be alright Kagome," Inuyasha says and kisses my forehead.

I just nod, and kiss his cheeks. I want to believe Inuyasha but after that dream/vision, I don't know if I can.

We had left the shrine a couple of days, the old man which I had learned had the name of Jin, gave a a bunch of FoxGlove that should last about a month. About and hour ago we were able to see the Northern Mountains and Inuyasha was becoming more and more hopeful that we would be able to get me some help.

"Kagome, we're almost there," Inuyasha say looking over his shoulder, and smiles at me.

I give him a tired smile and lean my head on his shoulder. Over the last couple of day I had been feeling more and more tired. Today I could only walk about two hours before Inuyasha had to carry me. Inuyasha looked at me worriedly and continue to walk.

Sometime later, we came up to a little town at the base of the mountain. We walked around, people starred at us as we walked around. We stopped by a group of villagers.

"Can you tell us where the priestess lives?" Miroku asks.

"Why do you wish to know that?" A man in his mid-thirties, says staring at Inuyasha I longer then the others.

"Please my mate is sick the only person that can help her is the priestess," Inuyasha begs.

"Priestess Kiori lives in the cave just down the trail," the viliager points down the path.

"Thank you," Inuyasha says and bows his head.

Inuyasha sprints to the cave, the other following.

"Priestess Kiori, we need you help please," Inuyasha calls into the cave.

"I do not help demons," I voice of a old women sounds through the cave.

"Please, it's my Mama, she's sick," Shippo says.

"Please Priestess Kiori, you're the only one who can help my mate," Inuyasha says.

"Bring her in," Priestess Kiori says.

Inuyasha carries me into the cave. Inside it is lit by candles. Their are fur pelts on the floor. An old women sat on the floor near a burning fire. Her grey hair glowing in the light. She looked at us with wise eyes.

"You may sit," she gestures to a couple of fur pelts. Inuyasha sat down and pulled me into his lap. "So you two are half demons," Priestess Kiori says, looking at Inuyasha and I.

"Yes, please we need your help," Sango says.

"I know, you do, I can sense that her aura is being consumed by darkness," she says pointing to me.

"That is correct," Miroku says. He is holding Sango's hand, Sango had Doru in her lap.

"And you want me to try and purify the darkness inside of her," she says, looking at us and smirking when she nods.

"Well I'm sorry but I don't know if I will be able to do that. The darkness has consumed most of your soul," she says talking directly to me. "Even if I can, it will be a very painful process."

"Please you have to try, if you don't the darkness will consume me and Naraku is planning to have one of his reincarnations take control of me and make me kill everyone I love," I say, getting of Inuyasha lap and getting to my knees, bowing.

"Are you sure you want to go through with this?" Priestess Kiori asks.

"Yes, I am sure," I say.

"Then I will help you, we start tomorrow," she says and walks out of the cave, leaving us all in shock.

Maybe I do have a chance of beating this, I think to myself with a smile.
