Chapter ~20~

Inuyasha's POV

"Kagome, if you come with me know, I will let Inuyasha live. But if you don't I will not hesitate to kill him," Ankoku says and slowly begins to close his fist. I scream in pain as the darkness wrapped tightly around me, squeezing.

"No, no I'll go with you just don't hurt Inuyasha," Kagome yells, slowly walking towards him.

"No Kagome, you can't," I yell.

"Come on, Kagome. You want Inuyasha to live don't you. Also I have heard that you have an adopted son. What was his name again? Oh, yes Shippo," Ankoku says, his eyes flickering with seriousness.

"You will not touch my son," Kagome growls. "You will not hurt Inuyasha either. I'll come with you."

"Kagome no, don't do it," I yell, my heart beating erratically. No Kagome can't leave me.

"I'm sorry Inuyasha, I have to do it," Kagome says and walk towards Ankoku. "I love you, Inuyasha, I always have and always will. I just hope one day you can forgive me."

"Aww isn't this sweet," Ankoku says sarcastically and grabs Kagome's arm roughly.

"Kagome no," I yell.

"It's to late half breed, she has made her decision," Ankoku sneers, and in a flash Kagome and him are gone and I am falling to the ground.

I scream, why did she leave? I could have fought Ankoku. I could have defeated him and made the darkness disappear. I know that Kagome left in order to protect Shippo and I and everyone else. I know want to protect all of us. But by leaving with Ankoku she will probably die, and what would Shippo and I do then? I hear people running up to me.

"Inuyasha, what happened?" Sango asked.

"Kagome went with Ankoku," I say looking at the ground.

"What, Papa where is Mama?" Shippo asks and hops into my arms.

"Mama went with Ankoku, in order to protect us," I say and hug him to my chest as I see the tears start to form in his eyes.

"Inuyasha are you saying that Kagome left with Ankoku in order to protect us," Miroku asks, I nod, rubbing my hand through Shippo's hair in order to calm him.

"Oh Kagome," I here Sango says as she begins to cry.

I don't know why they are all crying, we are going to go find Kagome, no matter what it takes.

"Let's head back to the hut so that we can start to make up a plan to get Kagome back," I say and begin to walk away, Shippo still in my arms.

"There is no need for that," I hear Doru say behind me.

"What did you say?" I ask turning around.

 "I said there is no need for that, because I can get you to Naraku's castle," she says, sticking her chest out like a super hero.

"So you are saying that you can get me to Naraku's castle before it is to late to save Kagome," I say and walk up to her and knelling down.

"I don't know if I can get you there in time to save Miss.Kagome but I can get you there as quickly as possible," she says.

"Okay, let's go pack up and get going, we have to go save Kagome," I say and begin running towards the huts.

Kagome's POV

I had been in the room for about a week already and I could feel the darkness consuming me even more. The choking sense of darkness around the room was growing more and more. Naraku would come in everyday along with Ankoku and watch how Ankoku expanded the darkness and helped it consume me. I was still chained to the wall, bruises had long formed on my wrists.

Inuyasha must be mad at the fact that I had left him and he probably doesn't understand that I did it to protect him, to protect my family. I know if the darkness consumes me they will be in danger, but at least at this moment they are safe.

For the last two days I would wake up and minutes later be throwing up. Kagura would come in and give me some broth to drink and clean up the vomit. I don't know what is wrong with me.

I look up to see Kagura walk through the door the usual bowl of chicken broth in her hands. I smile at her, my shoulders were slumped and I was dead tired. I felt like I was going to pass out at any moment.

"Kagome do you think you can hold broth down today?" Kagura asks as she stands in front of me. The smell of the broth making me feel nauseous, but I nod anyways knowing I need to have something in my system.

Kagura feeds me slowly and by the time I reach the bottom of the bowl the broth was cold. Kagura stayed with me, talking to me, I learned that she wanted to be released from the Naraku's control, and she wanted to take care of Kanna so that they could be a family. I told her that I would make it happen and that I would free from the icy hell that is Naraku's control.

"Kagome why do you think you are sick?" Kagura ask randomly.

"I don't know, it's probably from the fact that darkness is consuming me," I say.

Before Kagura can say anything else, thundering footsteps echo through the hallway and Naraku barges through the door.

"Kagura leave," he snarls. Kagura gives me one last longing look before scurrying out of the room.

"So Kagome have you considered the option of becoming my mate?" He asks.

"Never," I growl.

"Oh come on Kagome, I promise not to harm Inuyasha or any of your friends of you become my mate," he whispers and I jerk my head away from him.

"Inuyasha will come and defeat you, and when he does I will not hesitate to stop him," I growl and thrash around more.

"Oh, Kagome, don't you know the darkness has almost consumed you whole so by the time Inuyasha comes, you will be in my control and when that happens I will have you kill him. Then I will give you control back, just to let you see him take his last breath," he says and I gasp.

"I will never hurt Inuyasha," I growl.

"We will see about that," Naraku laughs and exits the door to let Ankoku do his work for today.

I begin to cry, not out of the pain to come, but out of fear that I will hurt Inuyasha.
