Shippo's POV

I woke up, sad. My dream replaying in my head. Mama had left me, and wasn't coming back. I sat up rubbing my eyes with my fists. I looked over and saw Papa still sleeping, but Mama was gone.

"Mama," I called. She didn't answer.

"Mama," I called louder this time. No answer.

"Shippo what's wrong?" Papa asks me waking up and walking over.

"Mama, isn't here, I called for her, but she didn't come," I say, hopping onto his shoulder.

Papa, sniffed around, his eyes became panicky. Oh no, where was Mama. I sniffed and realized what was wrong. Her scent isn't fresh and led to the door.

"Papa, where do you think Mama is?" I ask, hugging his neck.

"I don't know buddy, I don't know." Papa started running all around the village and asked the villiagers if he as seen Mama.

No one had.

"KAGOME!" Papa yelled.

Where is Mama?

Kagome's POV

"KAGOME!" I could here Inuyasha yell my name even though I was miles away.

Pain bloomed in my heart and tears came to my eyes. Inuyasha you have to understand that I am doing this for your safety. I continue to run.

I never was good at running. Inuyasha could run for hours and hours.

I sit resting against a tree. My heart aching, my head pounding. During my four hours of running and resting I had tripped multiple times, fell from the tree tops when I tried to jump from one tree to another. I wish Inuyasha was here.

Wait -no Kagome don't think that, I yell at myself. Inuyasha can't be here, he will be hurt. I love him too much to let him get hurt. My heart ached and I placed my hand over it, tears came to my eyes and I didn't stop them. This darkness over coming my soul and spiritual powers, is indescribable. I needed to stop Ankoku and stop the darkness.

My stomach growled, breaking me from my thoughts. Wiping my tears, I stood up and headed towards a river I could smell near by.

I caught 2 fish and built a fire. After being in the feudal area for so long I had learned some skills to surviving in the wild. Inuyasha taught me how to clean a fish and cook it. I ate my fish and took a drink from the river.

I hear a laugh behind me, darkness clouds the corner of my eyes.

Ankoku.

I turn around slowly, there stands Ankoku. Beside him is that little girl. Her eye on the ground. Doru, that was her name. She didn't want to hurt anybody, I can fell it, she has a pure soul, it's just clouded.

"Well well, Kagome. Where is Inuyasha at?" His voice sent chills down my spine.

"He's not here," I say, my shoulder tensing. I won't let you have him Ankoku, I think.

"Doru, transform and keep watch," the girl does what she is told, transforming into an demon representing a Saber Tooth Tiger. Her fur purple and it looks like it swirls and is made of poison.

"Why are you doing this Ankoku?" I ask. "Why can't you just leave my alone?"

"Why you ask. Naraku has ordered me to eliminate you. You are a thorn in his side," He growls.

"You mean, he is scared of me," I say, I know this will anger him and I will be able to strike him.

"Naraku, isn't scared of anything!" Ankoku yelled and lifted his hand.
