Through the Well

Chapter ~5~

"Mama that was really good that time," Shippo said from his spot on a large boulder to my right.

"Thanks baby," I panted.

Inuyasha was teaching me how to hunt and I wasn't doing very good with just my claws. I was better with a bow. It was nice that Shippo was encouraging me. I mean my seven year old is encouraging me. That is the sweetest and cutest thing in the world. I was tired, but I needed to continue with this training if I was going to have a chance against Ankoku and Doru.

They would be coming in two days and I needed to train and train.

"Kagome let's take a break," Inuyasha said, not out of breath at all.

"Yeah, a break," I whispered, falling to the ground and looking up at the sky.

Inuyasha came beside me and handed me a water bottle. I gladly gulped it down and took a deep breath, breathing in Inuyasha's manly scent. He smelled of Pine, also something soothing like hot chocolate. Inuyashs's arm wrapped around me, rubbing my shoulder soothingly. I smiled gently at him and leaned my head on his shoulder, exhausted.

"I'm exhausted," I whisper.

"I know Kagome, I know you are," Inuyasha whispers, kissing my forehead.

I could see Shippo playing in a field of flowers, just a little ways of way. It looked like he was making something, "Shippo, what are you doing?" I yell to him.

Shippo, turns his big emerald eyes toward me, "It's a surprise mama."

A smile comes to my face as I watch my son play. Shippo was always like a son to me, and now that he calls me mama, I know that we will be a family forever.

"We will be a family forever," Inuyasha says, as if he was reading my mind.

"Yes, Inuyasha, we will be a family forever," I say, grabbing his hands.

"Maybe someday, after Naraku is gone, we can have children of our own," Inuyasha voice holds, nervousness as if he is scared of what I am going to say.

"Yes Inuyasha,after Naraku is gone," I say, my voice showing how happy I am.

Inuyasha pecks my lips, lingering for a second. I smiled and leaned my forehead against his.Shippo came running toward us, his hands hiding something behind his back. A giant smile on his face.

"Mama, Papa, look what I made," Shippo holds a crown of flowers and a necklace of flower, all different colours and all equally beautiful.

"This is for you," Shippo says placing the crown of flowers on my head,"and this is for you," Shippo places the necklace of flowers on Inuyahsa's neck.  

"Good job squirt," Inuyasha says picking up Shippo and giving him a hug.

"Yes, good job Shippo, they are beautiful," I say, gently touching my crown.

"You really think so?" Shippo asks.

"Yes," Inuyasha and I say.

"Let's go home shall we," I say picking up Shippo and offering my hand to Inuyasha.

That night I am haunted by the nightmare of how I died. The pain of Inuyasha's phantom sword going through my back and out my chest. The feeling of darkness, spreading through my body. The pain of saying goodbye to Inuyasha.

I wake up crying, a horrible pain spreading through my body. Inuyasha holds me asking what is wrong. The pain travelling though my body is too much, and I can't speak. I grip Inuyasha shoulders, tears spilling down my cheeks.

I feel Inuyasha place me on the ground, and wipe my forehead with a cold cloth. I'm guessing I have a fever.

You will not win, Kagome. You will lose and your friends will die. The darkness is already spreading.

I gasp, clutching my head. Ankoku. How is he doing this? No, if what he says is true they can't be near me. If this darkness takes over, I don't know what I will do.

"Inuyasha. get away," I say, trying to move away.

"No, stay still, Kagome. Kaede is getting you something for the pain," Inuyasha says, he hold me down.

"Here Inuyasha give this to Kagome," Kaede says, handing his a brew of herbs.

"No, Inuyasha you have to get away," I say, trying to get away.

"I'm sorry, Kagome," Inuyasha says and pours the brew of herbs down my throat. My world goes black.

Inuyasha's POV

I sat there watching Kagome sleep, after I gave her the brew Kaede made. She had passed out within seconds. Why was she saying for me to get away?

"Inuyasha, I think I know why this is happening to Kagome," Kaede say sitting next to me.

"Why?" I ask.

"Darkness is spreading through Kagome. I wasn't sure at first, but know that this is happening I am positive," Kaede says. "When Kagome was stabbed with your sword Ankoku had coated it with darkness and with Kagome being a half demon now her spiritual powers are not as strong. So her body is fighting the darkness. If Kagome does not beat the darkness inside of her, Naraku could take control of her."

"No, that will not happen," I exclaim.

Kagome will beat this, I know she will. We have to start a family together. We have to raise Shippo. Together. Kagome will beat this. I know she will.

Hello my hanyous, finally a Inuyasha POV.

I hope you enjoyed it. Sorry I didn't update yesterday, I had a friend over. Also starting Monday I may not be able to update as much because of school starting. So please keep reading and.....
