Through the Well

Chapter ~10~

We had stayed in the tree for so long that the others had started to worry.

Sango and Miroku had come up to the Goshinboku and interrupted a perfectly perfect and wonderful make out session and ruined it.

But they ruined it for a good reason, Kaede had to talk to us about what we are going through right now.

"Kagome, Inuyasha please sit," Kaede says. She was sitting at next to the fire blending some herbs.

Sango and Miroku are on the other side of the hut with Doru and Shippo. They seemed to have become good friends and were colouring pictures in the colouring book I had brought from my time a while ago.

"What is it that you needed to talk about Kaede?" I ask.

"Kagome ye know that your spiritual powers and soul are being consumed by darkness," Kaede starts, Inuyasha's hand grabs mine and squeezes it gently, reassuringly. "What ye don't know is how you are going to be able to stop the darkness in time in order to stop the darkness."

"How do we stop it Kaede?" Inuyasha asks quickly. I grip his hand tightly.

I know Inuyasha is eager to save me. I am eager to save me. Obviously, I don't want to be consumed by darkness. I want a life with Inuyasha, I want a family with Inuyasha.

"There is a priestess about and two weeks travel north from here. She is like ye Kagome, she has purification powers. She may be able to purify the darkness inside ye before it consumes ye," she says looking at both me and Inuyasha.

"Really?" I ask.

"Really, she may be able to help ye. But during your travels the darkness will continue to consume ye and I know that it is going to be painful. And it is going to even more painful, if this priestess is able to purify the darkness," she says blending the herbs and adding some water.

"We'll do it, we have to," I say. "No matter how painful. Also during our travels we can look for shards of the sacred jewel."

"Our first priority is to help you get better," Inuyasha says, looking at me sternly.

"Yes Kagome, that is our first priority," Miroku says, his arm wrapped around Sango. I mentally awwed.

"Inuyasha, since when is finding the sacred jewels not our first priority now," I teased.

"Since you almost died," he says seriously, his eyes burning.

"Okay," I gasp, shocked at how serious Inuyasha is being. "We should start packing then, and we should all wash up."

"Kagome, let's go take our bath's first," Sango says standing up, grabbing Doru's hand. I nodded and went over to pick up Shippo.

"Inuyasha stay here, if I see you, you know what will happen," I warned him, giving him a frosty glare.

Inuyasha nodded, looking scared. Good he should be.  

I grabbed towels and the shampoo and conditioner out of the big yellow monster and headed towards the hot springs. The others following close behind.

Sango and I relaxed in the deeper part of the hots spring while Doru and Shippo played in the shallower part. Shippo had opted not to bring his floaty because he wanted to be a big boy. I just think he was trying to impress Doru.

"So Sango, I saw Miroku had his arm around you," I say wiggling my eyebrows.

"Yeah so," she says a deep blush appearing on her cheeks.

"Well it just seems that you guys are just getting really close," I say, looking up at the sky. The sun was just beginning to set so we had just about an hour before we had to get back to the hut.

"He asked me to marry him again and I agreed to. And we have been talking about adopting Doru," she says smiling fondly at Doru.

"Really?" I ask and smile when she nods in response.

"Shippo, Doru come here so we can wash your hair," I say.

They swim over and I place Shippo in my lap so I can wash his hair, Sango does the same for Doru.

"So Doru, what is your favourite thing to do?" I ask.

"I like to colour," she whispers.

"Shippo likes to colour too," I say rubbing the shampoo into Shippo's hair before telling him to dunk to get rid of the suds.

The wind blew and I caught a scent of pine and mint. Inuyasha. That pervert.

"Shippo, look for Papa in the trees for me," I whisper and continue to clean his hair.

"He's straight ahead in that really big tree," he whispers back.

"Thank you," I whisper.

"SIT!!" I yell. All you hear is a yell, and a thud and then a cloud of dust.

I swim over to the edge and grab and towel before wrapping it around me.

"Inuyasha what did I tell you?" I yell walking over to him.

"I was just making sure you were safe. I didn't want anything to happen to you," he says looking at the ground.

"I appreciate that you care so much, but I could have taken care of us. And Sango was here," I say kneeling down.

"I know, I was just worried," he says looking me in the eyes and I knew he was telling the truth.

"Okay, but next time have some faith," I say, kissing his cheek. He nodded and ran towards the hut.I smile and just think.  

Inuyasha may be a pervert, but he's my pervert.
