Chapter seventeen: Belles pov

"I just wanna be with you." I was speechless. And by speechless I mean I didn't talk as much as I usually do.

I'm quite the talker. Or so I have been told. By a few. Or maybe more than a few.

Apparently I talk to much. Can you believe that? I mean I don't talk that much, just a couple words here and there and maybe a few snide comments-usually towards Jake-which he totally deserves. And...dammit I do talk a lot!

While I had been ranting to myself Jake had apparently been talking to me. "Errr sorry, what did you say?"

He looked slightly hurt before saying "Never mind I see you don't care I will just leave and never bother you again."

He went to walk away before I grabbed him. "What on Earth are you talking about?" His eyes betrayed anger and slight pain that caused my heart to break.

"Obviously you don't want to be with me so I'm just going to go and..."

I interrupted him "What? Of course I want to be with you. I have wanted to since we were kids. You were the one that pushed me away."

He looked flustered before shouting "THAT WAS BEFORE I KNEW YOU WERE MY MATE! I WANTED TO SAVE MYSELF FOR MY MATE AND DIDN'T REALIZE THAT YOU WERE MINE UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE!"

I glared at him "I do not appreciate the tone you are using with me."

He sighed irritated and looked quite flustered before saying "You spend way too much time with my mother." I giggled and looked up at him.

He looked down at me and said "Sooooo.."

I laughed again and said "Darling if you think that I am going to be with you before you tell me what you are keeping from me you are delusional."

He looked up at me innocently and I snorted at his attempts at innocence. Yeah right. "Nice try. Sit down. You my friend have a lot of explaining to do."
