The sky is on fire by the time everyone wakes up and comes out of their dens.

"Wow!" exclaims Fernpaw, coming beside me.

"It's beautiful." I murmur.

"Hey, the Gathering is tonight, I wonder if you're going." Fernpaw tells me.

"Of course." Featherstar tells us, coming up from behind. I nudge Fernpaw excitedly. Featherstar flicks my ear with her tail playfully and pads over to Streakpelt and Snowpatch, my father and mother.

Snowpatch calls to Fernpaw, who waves goodbye and bounds over to her. Streakpelt meows something to Sandstripe, then follows his mate and her apprentice out of the thorn entrance.

My former mentor meows to Peppertail and pads over to me.

"Hi, Hollyflower. Want to go on the dawn patrol with us?" He asks.

"Sure!" I answer. I follow him and Peppertail to the thorn entrance and slip through.

I wonder if I'll see my young warrior. I might get to know his name. I glance at my companions. I can't see him with them around. I must be patient.

I pad along the border, seeing no cat on the other border. I sniff, smelling nothing but the usual scent markers and forest smells. I'm disappointed. I can wait, I guess. I'll see him at the Gathering.

I return home with no news or no picture of my love, but the one I'd seen him. I sit and ponder him, sitting down in a sunny corner, warming my fur.

Soon it's almost sunset, almost time for the Gathering. My paws tingle with excitement as Featherstar calls a clan meeting. I pad across the clearing and sit at the base of Highrock.

"Streakpelt, Peppertail, Spottedpelt, and Hollyflower are accompanying me to the Gathering." the Clan leader announces. She jumps down and assembles her warriors.

We follow her out of the thorn entrance and through our territory. We head the usual way, and later come to the stream. The stream is glowing red, reflecting the sunset.

The group follows the stream towards KittyClan side, where it widens to a small river. After looking around cautiously, we all cross the border and follow the river.

Further on, at the edge of the territory, the river disappears underground. We go straight off the other border, where the KittyClan cats are already in the clearing.

Looking at them, I wonder if they shouldn't be called BlackClan. They all have dark pelts, except...

My heart leaps with joy. It's my young warrior love, with the rising moon shining in his beautiful grey pelt and deepest blue eyes! He's here!
