I race to the border and lick his head. I miss him so much every day. I groom his fur, taking in his fresh wood scent and wanting more.
"I love you, Hollyflower." he murmurs as usual.
"I can never get tired of you!" I sigh. I press myself against his chest. I listen to his soft, repetitive heartbeat as he licks my ears and murmurs softly.
I leave and groom myself well, wishing that I could keep his wonderful scent. I walk home wishing that I could walk back.
I curl up and sleep with the sound of his heartbeats and the blue of his eyes in my heart. I don't dream, but I feel as if a very threatening one is stalking me as I would a mouse. I thrash in sleep, dying to get away and be with my love.
