BlazeClan

I blink and look up. His fur is rippling, the wind ripping through it, making him looking alive and free. He's staring right at me, but something tells me not to look away.

His eyes are a deep, brilliant blue, and the sun lights them up. They give me a feeling of gazing into two deep, magical pools. He returns running and disappears around a tree, following the larger black cat.

"Hollypaw! What's wrong with you?" my mentor, Sandstripe exclaims. I whip around and shuffle my paws embarrassedly.

"Sorry." I murmur, bowing my head.

"Well, let's go. If you wanna be a warrior, you have to prove it!" He tells me.

"Oh, I do!" I tell him, racing off towards our territory. I quickly reach the clearing. In the middle of it, a stream twists through. I open my mouth to taste the air. I circle around the clearing until I smell a vole scuffling among the leaves.

I make sure the wind isn't blowing my scent towards it and crouch down. I stalk my prey, already tasting it, but remember the young tabby warrior. I stumble, and scare the vole into a hole.

"What happened?" Sandstripe snaps from behind me.

"I'm sorry. I'm just distracted, that's all, really." I apologize.

"You'd better have something to take home." He warns.

"I'll try to have something. I already have the rabbit." I promise.

"You'd better." he growls. I scold myself and rush off.

My head is swimming with the image of the young warrior. I see his eyes, his light muscles and lean shape, and his rippling fur. I remember, he smelled woody and fresh.

I shake my head and locate a mouse searching through the leaves. I just manage to catch this one. I thank StarClan and go to find another.

"That's better. Now let's go get that rabbit." Sandstripe tells me.
