"li xiaomei, are you aware of the treason you've committed?"
"yes i am, your majesty." xiaomei hung her head low at the king and queen who sat in their thrones. while they sat in their thrones, xiaomei was kneeling on the ground before them.
"in result of treason, i hereby declare you, li xiaomei, banished from this kingdom. if you are ever seen to step foot in this kingdom, you will be punished with execution." the king announced with his booming voice filling the hall.
xiaomei let out a breath of relief. she was relieved that she wasn't dying on the spot. all she had to do was avoid the kingdom; it was simple.
"guards, escort her to her room. allow her to collect her things then escort her out the kingdom." two guards who xiaomei were familiar with grabbed her; one guard on each side of her arms.
they took her to her room and allowed her ten minutes to gather her things.
after packing her things, the two guards walked with her out the gates of the kingdom. whispers began to grow as they saw the girl walking with her head low.
"she's a shame to the royal family and this kingdom."
"what a disgrace."
"i'd kill myself if i were her. how dare she do such a thing."xiaomei saw the dirty looks but she payed no attention to them. behind the treason she committed was a secret and reason no one knew; no one but her and them.
once she reached the gates, the guards hadn't let go yet. this made xiaomei look them both in the eye. "let me go."
"general li, did you really?"
"i'm no general anymore huang."
"then what now? who's general now that you're leaving?"
"you are. i, former general li xiaomei, hereby declare that you, huang renjun, as the new and current general of the royal army." xiaomei pats his shoulder with one hand while the other hand reaches for her pocket.
taking out of her pocket was a small silver pendant that was shaped like a fangtian spear.
"g-general t-this.."
"it's yours now huang; general huang. if we do ever meet again, you better still have it with you. as for you zhong, don't get yourself into trouble. no more hitting huang since he's a higher rank now."
"but-"
"shut it zhong. no more joking around. just because i'll be gone doesn't mean the rules are gone."
she looks at both of them one last time before ruffling both their heads. "i'll be off now boys."
xiaomei then gives them one last smile before starting her journey away from the kingdom. while walking along the road, she looked down at the sword gripped in her hand.
a single sword that held so many memories. a sword that witnessed so much blood, so many tears, so many laughs; a sword that witnessed everything.
li xiaomei; the 16 year old girl who became the youngest general in history within the kingdom of Cressida to now; the 18 year old girl who finished her life as general.
