We followed the tracks for hours before heading back to camp, Carol is sitting on the guard rail, "Did you find her?" she asks, "No. It's getting to dark, we're going to look tomorrow" Daryl answers for me, "What?! My daughter can't be out there by herself, not for an entire night. She's only twelve" Carol exclaims, "Carol, we're not going to do much help in the dark" I say, "You shouldn't have even left her there in the first place!" Carol exclaims, I tried so hard to keep my mouth shut but the words just fell out, "Well, what was I supposed to do, carry her with me to distract another walker?!?! Carol, I didn't have a weapon on me otherwise I would've killed the damn thing. You can't pin this on me, I did what I knew was best" I say, "Well your best wasn't good enough. It never is" she says, I laugh in disbelief and I walk away, "Jade?" Daryl says sympathetically grabbing my wrist, "Don't touch me!" I growl snapping my wrist away from him, I grab my bow, bag and knife before storming off to the other cars, I was getting as far away from these people as possible.
{Daryl's P.O.V.}
I scowl at Carol, "God damn you people, you can't be serious?" I say and walk in the direction Jade went, she already left once, I'm not letting er' do it again.
Man these people have a lot of nerve, blaming Jade for everything, What about Rick? He went down there too, and nobody is blaming him. People can only do so much, and when they do something, it's never enough.
{Jade's P.O.V}
I decided to climb up onto a cargo-cemi and watch the night sky, I pull out a blanket and wrap it around myself. I hear shuffling and lay down on the truck, staying as quiet as possible, "Jade? Come on where are you?" I hear Daryl talking to himself, "Are you alone?" I ask quietly, "Jade?!" he asks, "Are you alone?" I repeat, "Yes. Where are you?" he asks, I sit silently, "Jade, where are you? I want to talk" he persists, "I'm up here" I say and lean over the side of the car, "How the hell did you get up there?" he asks arching his neck to look up at me, "I flew" I tease, he smirks "Well then come down ere' and get me" he jokes, I roll back over, "I'm too tired" I tease, and before I know it he is sitting beside me, stealing my blanket, "Wow, did you fly too?!" I tease with a smirk on my face, "No, I used something called muscles" he jokes and leans over me, "What would ya say if I asked for a kiss?" he says with his own smirk, I smile and pull his lips onto mine. We lay there and talk, wrapped in the blanket I have and each others warmth until we fall asleep.
{Daryl's P.O.V.}
I was startin to get worried when I couldn't find her and she wouldn't respond to me, I thought she actually did leave. But then she answered me, I looked around trying to find her. Who would've thought she'd be ontop pf a cargo-cemi? I pulled myself up and laid next to her, after she kissed me, she laid on my chest with my arms wrapped around her until she fell asleep.
{Jade's P.O.V.}
I woke up rather early and I just laid there staring at Daryl, I got so lost in his features I failed to see his eyes open up, "I felt yer eyes watching me in ma sleep" he teases, I smirk, "Really?" I say and sit up stretching and yawning. "We should probably get back to camp, we have to look for Sophia" I say getting up, Daryl catches my wrist, "After everything she said to you?" he says softly, "Yes. Daryl, there is a little girl out there, and it's partially my fault, I'm not going to stop until I find her, plus Carol's just shaken up, I doubt she meant any of that" I say packing up my things, "I get that but what if she's already dea-" I cut him off, "I need to know" I say, he slowly gets up groaning, "Are you ok?" I ask, "Yeah, just my back hurts, you laid on my chest all night, and I was laying on this metal" he says with a smirk.
"I'm sorry" I say and turn my head to look at camp, he pulls my chin towards him, "Don't be, I'd do anything for you?" he says and kisses my forehead, "You missed" I tease, he leans me back and plants a big wet kiss on my lips, I stand up, "Ewww, Gross, you just wet willy'd a kiss" I joke, he smirks, "Don't even say it" I joke covering his mouth, he licks my hand, "Oh, come on, really Daryl?" I say trying to be serious but the smirk slowly creeps onto my face, he smiles, "Love ya" he says, "Love you too" I say and jump off the cemi, I hear Daryl run to the edge, "Jesus, you scared the shit outta me, how'd you land that?" he asks, "I used to do gymnastics" I tease, "Toss me those bags" I add, he climbs down and we head back to camp.
I'm greeted with a bunch of scowls and Rick walks up to me, "Can I talk to you....alone?" he asks, "Yeah?" I say hesitantly and he grabs my wrist before pulling me out of hearing distance, Daryl's eyes never leave me, I look Rick right in the eyes, "Carol wants you gone, and she somehow talked a few others into it as well" he says, "Your fucken kidding me?!" I say in disbelief, Rick stands there and Shane walks over, "I think It would be best if you left tonight, just act like everything is ok and then leave. It would be the best for Daryl, we need him here" he says, I laugh, "Ha! Your hilarious, he's gonna know, and I'm not going to lie to him, he deserves better" I say looking right into Shane's eyes, "I know he deserves better, and it only feels right to me if you don't tell him, it's for your own good" Shane says, "Rick, you actually agree with this? Or are you just going with what this asshole says?!?!" I ask, "Rick is only doing what is right for the group" Shane adds, "I think you should back off and let the man speak for himself, you're not his mother" I say, "Rick?" I add looking at him, "I don't know, Jade, I don't want to see you leave but as Shane said I have to do what's best for the group" he says with his head down, "Your going to just kick me out because I tried to help, What the hell was I suppposed to do?!?" I exclaim, "There's nothing you can do. Look Jade we can do this the easy way, or we can do this the hard way, choice is yours?" Shane says, "Rick, Can I have a minute alone with Shane?" I ask, he walks away.
"You know what?" I ask looking at Shane, he lifts his eyebrows, "I know the real reason you want me to leave. And I plan on telling Rick" I say staring direct into his eyes, challenging him. "And what makes you think he'll believe you?" he says, "Oh, watch me?" I say and he tackles me, putting me in a head lock, I easily slip out of it and stand up, he sweeps my leg out and puts my arms behind my back. Daryl runs over, "No, Daryl. I can handle him, just back off" I say and quickly kick my foot, kicking him in the shin with all my force. He tumbles to the ground, I straddle his sides and pin his hands to his sides, "Don't you fucking do it, I will kill you" he whispers so only I can hear, "Now, how's that fair, Shane? You get to do what you want and make my life a living hell and I don't get the chance to get back?" I taunt and shake my head. I stand up, "Lori?!?!" I scream and start walking over to camp.
Shane tackles me but I heard him coming and I drop towards the ground and sweep his feet out from under him, he topples backwards, I spin to my feet and continue to walk to Lori, I pull her aside, "You have 2 choices, one, you tell Rick about you and Shane, or two, I tell him myself?" I say, she looks into my eyes, "I can't" she says, I give her a stern look and she looks at the ground, I walk back over to Shane, "Are you gonna tell him, or do I have to?" I ask, he glares at me, "Hey Rick, did you know your best friend was screwing your wife while you were in A coma?" I ask staring directly at Shane, his jaw clenches, I look at Rick, he looks at his wife, "Is it true? Oh God Lori, please tell me its not true?" Rick says, she nods, "I'm sorry" she says, "While everyone is riled up and all together, I should probably announce that I will be leaving. Since apparently I'm too much of a hassle for some of you, and the others well I'm sorry, I will miss you" I say and attempt to dismiss myself, but Daryl speaks and I stand still to listen.
