**Chapter 34- "It's over"**

      I'm staring out the window of the RV when Beth walks in, "Can you take me to shoot?" she asks, "You'd have to ask your dad. Rick has made it very clear that we clarify everything with the leaders, Hershel and Rick, before doing anything" I say, she smiles, "You know he'll say yes" she says, "Yes but I still want to make sure" I say, "I'll go talk to Hershel then Rick" I say and smile, "Thanks" she says and I see a bandage on her wrist, "Beth, what is this?" I ask grabbing her wrist, "Nothing. I just had a break down when Shane opened the barn and my mom came out" she says, "It's most certiainly not nothing. Beth hun, I used to think about the same thing, but think of all the people left in this world that love you. You don't want to hurt them, do you?" I ask, "Of course not, but I didn't want to live in this world anymore either" she says. We sit in an awkward silence for a few minutes, "I'm going to go talk to them" I say and leave the RV to find Hershel.

I find Hershel eating pears in the dining room while reading his Bible, "Hey Beth confronted me and she wants me to take her target practicing" I say, "But I wanted to get your concent first" I say, "That would be fine. I want those people off my land by the end of the week though, you can stay but they can not" he says, "Hershel. They are good people. We can help out here...Make our keep-" he interupts me, "Jade, you have always been welcome here and you always will be. I know your group are good people, they all have potential. But do you trust everyone of them with your lives?" he asks, It takes me a moment but I catch on to what he is saying, "Is this all because of Shane?" I ask, he nods and shoves another pear in his mouth. "I have to go" I say and walk out of the house, I take off sprinting into the woods, I'm caught by someone's arms and swung in a circle, I look up to find Daryl, "Where ya off to in such a hurry?" he asks, "I just needed some air" I lie, "Yer lyin'" he says, I look at the ground.

"What's really wrong?" he asks, "I needed to clear my thoughts, and I do that by running, then I have to go talk to Rick" I say, "You wanna go huntin' while you clear your head instead of running?" he asks, "Yeah that would be great" I say and run back to camp and grab my bow.

When we return I split from Daryl and go to Rick who is preparing a run, "Rick, we need to talk" I say, "Can it wait?" he asks, I look at Andrea then Shane then back to Rick and shake my head, "No. It's pretty urgent" I say, he looks directly into my eyes and he looks at Shane, "Give me a minute" he says and we walk out of hearing distance, "Rick. I talked to Hershel. Did you know he wants us out of here by the end of the week because of what Shane did?" I ask, Rick looks at the ground then nods his head, "I'm trying to get this situated" he says,"Rick. You need to do a little better than get it situated. Shane is going to ruin it for all of us. We have everything here and I don't want to lose it" I say, "I know. I don't either, Jade believe me.. Were not going anywhere" he says, "We don't have a right to just force ourselves onto his land if that's what your saying" I say, "No. Of course not. I'm gonna make this right" he says, I nod dismissing myself and walk back to my tent and I change and grab my bow, I find Daryl sitting on by the fire cleaning his arrows, "I'm goin' out for a bit if you want to come?" I say, he smiles up at me and squints his eyes, gosh I love it when he does that!?! "Let's go" he says and just like that were off.

We walk in silence for awhile when he breaks the silence, "So can I ask what you went to talk to Rick for? You seemed really upset" he says, "Yeah. But it's all gonna settle out soon enough" I say, he nods and looks back at the ground, "Hershel wants us off the farm by the end of the week because of what Shane did" I say, he looks at me, "What!?" he asks, "Yep. But I'm going to talk to Hershel and see what's going on. It's gonna be ok either way" I say, he smiles, "Long as I have ma girl" he says pulling me towards him. I lean up and he kisses me.

It's around midnight when we decide to head back to camp, I hear a gunshot and I look at Daryl before sprinting off, thinking the worst. I get to camp and run onto the porch with Lori, "Who's all out? What's going on?" I ask, "Shane said he saw that Randal escaped and went after him, and T-dog, Glenn and Rick and Shane went looking for him" she says, "God dammit! Lori, it's over! Shane let the jealousy get the best of him and now he's gonna kill Rick. I have to go do something" I say and take off running with my bow on my shoulder, "Daryl, keep everyone inside. I'll be back!" I yell.
