I wake up to the sun shining in my face. I roll over to find my bed astray. I sigh and rub my eyes before getting ready for my day. I walk out to camp, I see Daryl sitting a bit away from everyone else, I strut over and sit beside him, "You ok?" I ask, he shrugs and continues to clean his arrows, "Daryl. What's wrong?" I ask, he looks up and I follow his eyes to see Shane, he turns towards me and I see he has a black eye, "Daryl, what happened?" I ask, "Nothin, don't worry about it" he says and kisses my forehead before walking back to camp, I let my hands dangle over my knees and look at the sunset, How did I get here? Just a few months ago I was in my normal apartment with my cat, I was going to online classes to become a nurse and now I'm with this group of people and I'm falling in love with probably one of the biggest hillbilly rednecks on the face of the Earth.
I get so lost in my thoughts I fail to realize Maggie has sat down beside me, "Hey" I say after a minute, "Hey. I was wondering if you needed anything? Glenn and I are going on a run" she says, "Aw, you and Glenn got somethin goin on?" I ask playfully, "No!" She exclaims jokingly and playfully punches me in the arm, "Ouch!" I tease and playfully punch her back. She does a dramatic fall sideways and we both chuckle.
"Can I tell you something?" She asks after a bit, "Anything" I say, "I never thought I was gonna see you again" she says and a tear slips down her face, "Oh Maggie" I say choking back a sob, "But that day you walked up into the house, my heart flew out the window. Jade, you've always been like a sister to me and it nearly killed me to leave you" she adds, I can't help it a tear slips down my face, damn tear ducts!!! "I'm here now and I don't plan on leaving anytime soon" I say, she smiles, "I hope not, now do you need anything?" She asks patting my knee and standing up, "Yeah ummm, could you grab some feminine things and a pregnancy test?" I ask, she looks mortified, "It's not for me" I say, she smiles again, "Yes I will" she says and walks away.

Maggie and Glenn return and Maggie hands me a bag. I take it and walk to Lori's tent. "Lori?" I ask quietly, "Jade. Come in, come in" she says, "Here" I said and handed her the bag, she browses through it. "Hey Lori?" I ask, she looks up, "Do you know what happened to Shane?" I ask, "Oh honey, I was told not to tell you about any of that. I'm sorry but you'll have to talk to Daryl" she says, I smile and dismiss myself. I want to go talk to Daryl and if worse comes to worse I'll go talk to Shane.
"Rick? Have you seen Daryl?" I ask, "Yeah? He went to the woods, said he was goin hunting" Rick says, "Which way did you say he went?" I ask, "That way just follow the cement walkway" he says. I snatch up my bow and head out.
I creep through the woods and see something I never thought I'd see. Something beyond my anger zone, rage suddenly consumes my entire body, "I might not be able to kill a man but I know how to be humane" Dale says, "You see Shane, this world was meant for people like you" He adds, "People like me? What does that mean Dale?" Shane presses, "People like you. Ruthless, idiotic, and stupid!" Dale says and Shane raises his hand back as if he was going to slap Dale, I step out of the bushes, "Um, I don't think so" I say aiming my gun at Shane.
"Oh just great! This little bitch came to save your ass" Shane spits at Dale, "Leave Shane... Now!!" I snarl, he shoves the guns towards Dale forcefully and walks up to me, "Some day your not gonna have little old Daryl to protect you, and when that day comes you'd better watch your back" he threatens. I snort., "I'm very well capable of handling myself" I say, he glares at me, "Now get" I say and release the hammer on my gun, he walks away.
"Jade you shouldn't have done that" Dale says, "Oh, it's nothing" I say, "He just trying to yank my chain" I add with a shrug. Dale grabs my arm as I turn around to walk away, "Jade, don't get yourself hurt because of me. And if there is anything I can do, just name it" he says, I smile "I will" I say and walk off to find Daryl.
{Daryl's P.O.V.}
I hear the slightest crunch of leaves and turn around to find Jade, my face drops to a frown. I turn to pick up the rabbits I shot and start walking back to camp, "Daryl?" She says softly, I ignore her, "Daryl. What are you hiding from me?" She asks, "Jade. It's for yer own good that I don't discuss it and its not important" I say and continue walking to camp. "What are you talking about? Daryl I'm very capable of handling myself" she says, "Yeah I can see how well that worked" I grumble, "What is that supposed to mean?!" She asked.
"What it means is yer always saying ya can handle yerself but you can't. You always say Shane doesn't get to ya but he does. Ya say you Love me but ya don't, I'm incapable of being loved, I've never been loved. Jade, can't you see that!?" I spit instantly wishing I could just inhale my words and swallow them. I look at her face and all I see is pure hurt and a mix of anger. "You know what Daryl I think you might have all of that backwards, Shane is a piece of shit and an asshole. And yes he does get to me, I've never been so vulnerable, I feel so weak. I can handle myself I just promised myself I wouldn't after I killed a man! Does that make you feel better?! Is that what ya wanted to hear?!" She shouts not nearly as loud as I did but loud enough to get her point across, then she stomps off.
I stare off in the distance and try to process what the hell just happened! I just ruined every fucken thing good I had in my life, Does she really Love me???
