Never Wake The Dead (TWD Fanfic)

**Chapter 37-Michonne**

I decide to take shift for the night, "Where are you going?" Rick asks, "Going to patrol the fences" I say and walk outside, the cool Georgia breeze hits my face causing me to smile. Everything is going to be ok I tell myself.
The sun is just waking up when I decide to head inside. Daryl is getting coffee when I walk in, "Go get some rest. I will take guard" he says with a yawn. I don't hesitate to walk up to the perch and lay down. Only a few hours I say to myself making a mental note before I fall into a peaceful slumber.
"Rick, they have Glenn and Maggie. Merle and Andrea are there" I hear someone say and I immediately jump up at the sound of Andrea's name being mentioned, I run down the steps to see Daryl talking to Rick and I can see by the expression on his face he isn't going to stay very calm for very long so I decide now is the time to step in. "What the hell is going on?" I ask, they both turn to me and both fall silent. "Someone answer me" I say, "Glenn and Maggie went on a run yesterday and they didn't come back" Rick says, "Ok, then how do you know where they are?" I ask, "This black woman showed up outside the gate holding a red carry cart full of baby formula, so Rick brought her inside and she won't talk to anyone" Daryl says, "Where is she?" I ask, Rick hands me a set of keys and points down a hall, I immediately head down.
I walk to the end of the hall and unlock the last cell, she sits up and puts her back to the wall, she glares at me. "I'm the least of your worries here. I just want to talk" I say and set the keys down on the sink, I pull the metal stool up and sit down, "Are you hungry?" I ask, she hesitates but nods, "Ok. I will take you to get something to eat but I need you to talk to me afterwards, deal?" I ask, she shakes her head. I scoop up the keys and we walk out to the kitchen, "You can sit right there" I say pointing to the picnic bench we have as a table. I get her some canned soup and a soda from the fridge, I set them on the table and sit down across from her.
"Jade, can you come here for a second?" Rick asks and I walk into the main room, "What's up?" I ask. "I need you to find out where they are, I plan on going to find them tonight so I need to know where they are no matter what precautions we have to take" he says. "I'm not going to beat her up if that's what your saying" I say, "Sometimes you have to do what you have to do" he says, "I can't believe you" I say in pure disbelief and I walk away.
I go back to talk to Michonne and take my seat across from her, I give her a friendly smile as an idea pops in my head, "Do you wanna go for a walk?" I ask, she smiles and I smile back.
"Ok. So I need you to tell me what you know" I say as we walk down the asphalt path that leads to the fences. "I saw you guys at the farm. I was watching you guys for a while debating whether or not I should approach and to see whether or not  your group was safe, I was in the woods when the herd of Walkers came in and I saw the majority of what fighting went on. It wasn't till after all if you guys left that I found a blonde woman running through the woods shooting and stabbing Walkers, she got cornered and I went to save her-" I cut her off, "Andrea" I say.
"How did you know?" she asks, I ramble around looking for words, I settle on, "She is my sister. She went missing the night the Walkers attacked. You-you saved her life" I say trying to cool the excitement bulging in my stomach, I stand silent as I wait for her to continue, "The town is called Woodbury and it is run by a guy they all call the governor" she says. "Is he a nice guy?" I ask, she starts laughing, "I guess that's a no" I answer my own question, she nods and we continue walking, "He has several guards as well who are just a crooked as he is. One has a bayonet as a hand" she says, "Is his name Merle?" I ask, she nods and again asks how I know, "He used to be in our group. He is a sibling of one of ours" I say.
"What is your name?" I ask, "Michonne" she says, "I'm-" she interrupts, "Your Jade. Your sister used to talk about you a lot" she says. I smile and tears threaten to fall from my eyes, I turn away from her, "It's ok to cry. It makes you feel better" she says with a smile, "Thank you but it makes me feel weak" I say, "It does that to all of us but if you hold it in it'll only make it worse later on" she says. I smile at her and we head back, "I'm gonna have to lock you back up, do you need anything before I go?" I ask, she smiles weakly, "No. Your hospitality was enough" she says and walks inside her cell.
"She said there is a place called Woodbury and it is run by the governor, they have heavy artillery and lots of guards, they have Glenn and Maggie. And" I look at Daryl, "Merle and Andrea are there" I say, he looks up at me to make sure he didn't imagine it, "What the hell we waitin for then, let's go" he says picking up his bow.
"Now hold up a minute Daryl, we can't just rush into this, it needs to be well planned out. We don't even know how their surveillance system works. We could go up in there and walk ourselves right into a trap and we'd never know it-" I cut him off, "Actually I know how their guarding system works. They have 2 guards on both walls at all times, they have shifts lasting up to 12 hours a piece and like I said they are heavily guarded and they won't hesitate to nuke us all if they think we mean them harm" I say, "then what do you propose?" Rick asks, "I say we wait till the sun goes down and then we move in-" I'm cut off, "There is a bus" Michonne says, "Pardon?" I ask spinning on my heel to face her.
"There is a bus at the back gate, if we can distract the guards somehow we can jump the fence that way" she says, I smile and turn to the group, "this could work" I say.
