He Feels the Baby Kick

Destiny sits in the dojo, relaxing. She prefers this room to any other, finding it to be the most peaceful. It helps her take her mind off her back pain.

She's twenty-five weeks along now and she spends most of her time resting. She moves her hand over her stomach slowly, humming quietly. She does this often nowadays, ever since she learned that the baby can hear her voice. Leonardo trains nearby, alone.

Right now, she's the farthest along of all the others. She's at six months, Taylor's at four, and Annalise is at only six weeks. Sarina waits patiently for the orphanage to phone, all the while prepping the laboratory for births.

Donatello had gotten parenting books so the girls would know what to expect, at least for a human pregnancy. They have no idea how Destiny's baby will turn out, considering hers is the only one created with two full mutants.

Suddenly, there's a soft kick from the inside of her rounded belly and she gasps. Sure, the baby had been fluttering around for a while that she could feel, but this one was different. Leo stops, looking to her worriedly.

"Babe, you okay?" he asks.

"Leo, the baby is kicking," she says excitedly.

"Really?" he asks, his tone the same as hers.

"Get over here!" She laughs.

He puts his katanas away and moves to her side, kneeling down and gently placing a hand on her stomach. There's another kick, and a grin breaks across his face.

"Wow..." he whispers.

He kisses her belly, then leans up and kisses his wife. She smirks lightly, leaning back at humming softly to herself and the baby while he goes back to his katas.

He Talks to the Baby

"Leo? This book says that if the husband talks to the baby it'll help them bond," Destiny says as she flips the page of her parenting book.

"You want me to try?" Leonardo asks, looking up at his wife as she sits on their bed.

"Yes please."

He smirks, moving to her and settling down on mattress in front of her stomach.

"Hello? This is your father speaking," he tries.

She rolls her eyes a little. "That's your Captain Ryan voice."

"No, it's not!" he insists.

"Our child will bond to Captain Ryan and not you." She smiles. "Just say something that you would say."

He rolls his eyes, smiling a little. He tries again. "Hi little guy or girl. I'm your daddy, and I love you very much. I'm gonna take good care of you and your mommy, just you wait."

He hugs her waist, pressing his ear against her stomach. There's a light kick and they both grin at the movement.

"You're gonna be just fine as a dad," she says, giving him a kiss.
