Chapter 1: You Look Familiar
"Brooklyn Avalon Greene, how could you ever do this to me?!" My best friend, Lillian, runs up to me.
"What did I do?" I ask, totally confused.
"Ugh, I thought I told you that I would bring you home. Sawyer is here, picking you up!"
"No way!" I smile, slamming my locker. We walk to the parking lot, and sure enough, my brother, Sawyer, was waiting for me. "Sawy!" I run to his car, and hug him tightly.
"Hey baby." He hugs me back. "I've missed you so much."
Tears were rimming my eyes. He's. Back. "I can't believe it!" I let them fall. "I'm so happy!"
"Listen to me, you have to run, their coming." He looks at me, frantically.
"What? Sawy, your not making any sense."
"Just make sure you remember the name Hunter Samuels. He'll help you. Run!"
"Avalon, wake up you fucking lazy child." Someone slaps my feet. My body jerks up, and I'm forced in the reality of my shitty life.
"My name is Brooklyn."
"Do I look like I fucking care? Lolly is here for you. Schools soon." My step father, Kevin, says.
"Her name is Lilly." I mutter. He slams my door. How doesn't he know my name?!
How is it that I'm stuck with that, and my life is a living nightmare. "B! OMG I was terrified when you didn't wake up."
"Lilly, I dreamt of him. Sawyer was there." I remember my dream.
"Oh, Brookey." She runs to my bed, and hugs me tightly.
I didn't tell her the second part, but I couldn't keep my mind off it. Hunter Samuels.
Who the hell is that?
****
"Hey, watch where your going," someone bumped into me. I look back, and a guy with messy brown hair had stopped in his tracks.
"Sorry," he turns back to me. He has bright blue eyes, and a narrow figure, but is still fit. "And you are?"
"Someone who doesn't matter."
"Nice to meet you," he smirks, a dimple showing through his left cheek, above his lips. "I'm Hunter Samuels, and I'm new around here."
It was like time went in slow motion. No. Way. "Hu-Hunter Sa-Samuels?" I stutter.
"That's me," he chuckles. "Have we met."
"No way, are you like...real?" I ask. And the award for biggest looser goes to...Brooklyn Greene.
"I...don't know you." He smiles.
"I'm so sorry, you look really....really familiar." I lie.
"Was I on the news or something?" He jokes.
"No, sorry. You can...carry on with your life. And forget about me." I say, finally catching up with Lilly.
"What the hell?" She turns to me.
"I don't know. He looks familiar."
"Familiar my ass, I knew you knew him. Who is he?"
Someone who'll help me. I think.
