Hey cutie!!
Chapter 33: Death
I didn't know exactly how to react. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean any word I said. I've just been so worked up with everything." He says, still shouting.I sniffle a laugh. "Quiet down."
"Never in a million years." He says even louder.
"Qǐng bǎochí ānjìng, bùrán wǒ dé qǐng nǐ líkāi." The man behind the counter shouts. "Leave if you don't be quiet!"
"Sorry, sir." Hunter says. Hunter walks towards me, and sits next to me in the booth. "I got these for you." He hands me a bouquet of flowers.
We kinda just sit there in a silence. Then he turns to me, and I turn to him. He reaches towards my face, and wipes away my tears. "I'm sorry." I sigh.
"I should be the one apologizing." He says. "I shouldn't of snapped at you."
"But I need to appreciate what you've done for me." I say. "I thank you...but I want to live my own life too."
"Yeah."
"Yeah." We sit there. Quiet. But, to be honest, I didn't mind it.
"Hunter?" I ask him when we are back at the apartment.
"Yes darling?"
"I'm sorry." I look down. I was standing in the kitchen, and he was sitting at the bar, on his phone. "I'm like really sorry. For everything."
"Aw baby." he gets up, and hugs me tightly. "Let's get you to bed." He actually lifts me off my feet. "Into the nice, warm, king sized covers."
"Hunter." I smack his chest. Then he lays me on the softest thing ever, and that's all I really remember.
* * * * * *
"Hunter, stop!" I smack a hand away in the morning. I open my eyes and Hunter is straddling me, "tickling" the living day lights out of me. It was at the point where it hurt. "Seriously, stop!" I have to scream.
"Good, you're awake."
"You couldn't have just woken me up like any normal person?" I narrow my eyes at him.
"I guess we aren't normal." He suggests to the argument we had last night. "Last night was our first argument."
"Let's make it our last. I don't like that."
"I don't like seeing you cry." He gives a seriously look. Then I hug him tightly, and he hugs back.
We go out for breakfast, and a nice Coney Island. "Hello Mr. Samuels, Miss. Greene." The hostess says. Hunter looks down at me, and smiles.
"Hello, table for two." He answers. She smiles, then leads us to the back corner.
"Your server will be right up." She then leaves us. I turn around, and look at the busy restaurant. People were staring. I sit back down in my seat.
I look at the menu, and know what I'm getting. Then comes over a younger girl, with a super short skirt, and a low cut shirt. I sigh, and look at Hunter. He just shrugs. "Hi, I'm Renee, and I'll be our server today." She says louder than expected. "It's an honor meeting you." She bends over, and smiles at Hunter, totally ignoring me.
"We will like to order." He says in a monotone voice.
"Okay, what do you want?" She pulls out her notepad.
"A farmers omelet, with potato wedges. What would you like, B?"
"Two eggs scrambled, with fruit, please." I recite. She narrows her eyes at me, then writes something down. Then she nods at Hunter, then walks away, swaying her hips.
"Do yo-" I say, looking at the waitress.
"I love you, Brooklyn. You." He leans forward. Even the smallest of things get my heart racing.
"I love you too." I smile, taking a sip of my water.
"Sorry, we are currently out of fruit. Can I offer you some hash browns?" Renee comes back.
"I'm allergic, I'll have some coleslaw."
"Okay." she then walks away.
"You're allergic to potatoes?" Hunter raises an eyebrow.
"I had such a bad allergic reaction before, almost died." I look down.
It takes a good 5 minutes until our food comes. Then her, and another girl gives us our food. I smile at my food, excited to eat.
I take a bit of my eggs, and look at Hunter. "Is your food good?"
"Amazing." He takes a huge forkful of his meal. I smile, and eat my eggs.
"Are you okay Brooklyn?!" Hunter yells, as I'm choking like crazy.
"Call...ambulance..." I say between coughs.
"Omg, are you okay?" Renee walks over, asking Hunter.
"You fucking put some potatoes in her eggs!" He screams. "Someone call the goddamn ambulance!" He shouts like I've never heard him before. People were suddenly rushing around, and people were crowding around us.
"Hu-" I cough, I couldn't breathe! It was like my throat was closing. He carries me, and rushes somewhere. I don't know where. And I don't care anymore.
I don't deserve to even live.
