Chapter 20: It All Comes Together
Hunter's POV
She didn't reject me. She's mine. Brooklyn Avalon Greene is my fucking girlfriend. Hell to the yes!!!"Hey, let's head back." I say to her. She nods, and we walk to the direction of the hotel. We pass a CVS, and I pull her in. "I need to get something. Go pick out some food. I like chocolate." I give her a $20 bill.
I walk to the kids section and grab a kids crown thing, and a pink tutu. I pack it in a bag. I grab some other stuff, and walk to the register. Brooklyn is buying some food ahead of me.
I buy it secretly, after I told her to look around. Then we walk to the entrance of the hotel. "What's in the bag?" Brooklyn peeks over.
"Nothing, cupcake." I chuckle.
"I hope it's not a condom." She looks at me in the eyes, scared almost.
I chuckle. "No," I shake my head. "Why would I do that?"
"I don't know." She shrugs. She obviously didn't want to talk about it.
"Do you not like talking about sex?" I drop the bags. I take a step towards her. She steps back, until she hits the wall. Then the doors open, we were here.
I walk into the family room. "Then what's in it?" She asks.
"Into my room." I say, and we walk into my nice room.
"Hunter." She says warily.
"Close your eyes."
"Please don't kill me." She says. I quickly look at her. She's perfect. "You aren't saying anything."
"I'm right here." I rummage through the bag, and pull out the tiara. "Keep your eyes closed." I walk to her, and place the tiara on her head.
"Can I open up now?"
"Of course." I say, and she opens her eyes. She jumps because of my closeness. Then she feels her head. "Your my princess." I hug her tightly. She hugs me back, holding my torso, and I don't ever want any other pair of arms around me anymore.
I show her all the stuff I bought. She puts the pink tutu on over her dress, and spins around. Then I hand her a wand, and some pink fluffy slippers. She giggles, and she's trying on all this stuff. "I also have this." I hold up Tangled. Her mouth drops.
"I love that movie!" She runs and grabs it. She hugs it, then rips it open. I chuckle at how excited she was. I guess #20 was a success.
We watch the movie, cuddling with each other. I laughed at how she knew every word(and she wasn't a bad singer either).
After the movie, we had the lights off, and she still had everything on. "You know, princess." I say, brushing her hair.
"Hmm?"
"I know barely anything about you. If your ready to tell me."
"I knew this would happen eventually." She sighs. "Well, your in for a treat."
"Tell me everything."
"Well, for starters. I had a dad named Richard. And being the Dick he was, he left my mom and brother, Sawyer. My mom couldn't afford to take care of my brother and I, so she remarried to a complete asshole. Kevin." She says.
"Oh my god." I say.
"Then three years ag-" she gets choked up. "Three years ago, my mom had....gotten," She pauses. "My mom died in a coma after a drunk driver hit her when she came home from work one day." Her makeup was getting smeared as she cried. I hug her, and she hugs me back. I hold her tightly, until she leans back.
"That's horrible. I'm so sorry baby."
"Sawyer, my brother, went to war about a year ago. And he hasn't come home." She looks at me, her eyes were bloodshot red, and it was pure sadness. "He was all I had left." she sobs.
"I'm here now." I say, I have to stay strong for her, but I wanted to cry for her. I never want to see my baby cry. I hug her again.
"Kevin barely gives me money, so for the longest time, I basically was starving myself. But thankfully your mom came around, and fed me."
It makes so much sense now. That night she was crying at my house. "Oh Cupcake."
She wipes her eyes. "I'm so sorry. Now you probably think I'm a freak." she blows into a tissue.
"The total opposite, I love you even more. You don't know how strong you are."
"He hurts me, Hunter." she says quietly.
"What?" I take a deep breath.
"Look." She says, peeling up her dress, showing the side of her thigh. There was a big scar that ran up further upwards.
"Son of a bitch." I say, I move closer to her, and look at the scar.
"It doesn't hurt, its been awhile." She says, rubbing her eyes. Her makeup was all over her face, but you know what? I was going to be the one to clean it up. I look back at her scar, and touch it slightly.
She tenses up, but she breathes out calmly, so I run my fingers lightly up the scar. It was deep. I stop when I can touch it anymore. I look back up at her, and there's just sadness in her eyes.
"Come here." I say, getting off the bed. I hold her hand as we walk to the bathroom. I sit her on the counter, and grab a washcloth. "You little raccoon." I try to lighten up the mood.
"So what's your secret?" She asks, as I run the warm water.
"It's nothing compared to you. But there's one thing."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah," I gulp. The only people who know about this are the guy in the band, and Tara. "You know Dona and Micheal? Well they aren't my actual parents. My mom died during my birth, and my dad, like your brother, got killed in war." I gulp again.
"Oh my god." She says, as if she's realized something.
"Yeah?"
"I'm realizing something." she jumps down from the counter after I cleaned her face.
"Tell me."
"I had a dream that Sawyer had come to me. He told me your name, and to find you. That was the night before I actually met you, and made a fool out of myself."
"Yeah?" I say, still confused.
"Maybe he knew your dad, and he told him that you were a good man. And that's how this all came together!"
She gets more excited with every word."Wow, that's...insane." My eyes grow big.
"I'm a dork, I know." She laughs, like she's embarrassed.
"Not at all. It's genius."
"This is crazy." She smiles, then jumps on me, I hug her, the let her down, kissing her forehead.
"Hey, now that I'm your full-fledged boyfriend, can I kiss you anytime I want?"
"I'll have to think about that." She bites her lip. "Your gonna have to be a good boy for that to happen."
"I don't know if I can do that, but I can certainly try."
