"I want a second chance," Joanna said.
"I gave you your second chance," Dream said, starting to shut the door.
Joanna stuck her foot in the door. "Clay, please. It's late, and we don't have anywhere to go. I knew this would happen..."
Dream shook his head. "Then why'd you come back?"
"Because I love you," Joanna said. "And you can't expect me to never talk to my son again."
"You never did," Dream said. "You never talked to me. Never."
Joanna crossed her arms defiantly. "Clay."
"What?" He threw his hands up.
"I tried to talk to you," She said. "But you never looked me in the eyes."
Dream started to speak, when he felt a hand on his shoulder pulling him away from the door. Sapnap looked Joanna up and down, and shut the door.
"Nick!"
"What!? No way!"
"She needed somewhere to stay," Dream said. "You can't lock her out like that!"
George appeared in the kitchen doorway, looking timid. "What's happening?"
"His fucking mom is here," Nick said.
"And my other family..." Dream added.
"No way," George shook his head.
"That's what I said," Sapnap looked to George.
"It's probably only for a day or two," Dream said. "I'm letting them in."
Sapnap scoffed and stepped back as the door swung open. Dream sighed. "Come in."
Joanna smiled, and waved to the running car just outside the yard. She took Dream's hand, and he winced.
"Thank you," She said.
"That hurts, Ma," He twisted his hand from her grip, and she grabbed it again, but gentler this time.
"Wh-Wh- Well, What, What is this!?" She exclaimed, rubbing her fingers on the slightly blood stained bandages.
"It's nothing," He pulled his hand away, and looked away. "Are you all coming inside or not?"
It was almost night by the time his family had gotten inside with all of their bags. It was a lot more luggage for just a few days.
Cassidy put an arm around Dream's waist, as she laughed with her parents about something trivial. He looked uncomfortable, his posture was stiff and his eyes were focused on the floor.
George turned to Sapnap, who seemed just as annoyed. But they both respected Dream's wishes, and stayed in the background.
"Hi."
Sapnap looked to his left, and Archer was standing there. "Uh... Hi."
"I liked your last video," He said. "I watched it on the way here. I think the best part was when Clay died first."
Sapnap nudged George with his elbow. "Oh yeah...?"
"Why?" George narrowed his eyes.
"It just felt right," Archer said, and twisted his headphone cord around his wrist. "What about you?"
