Jackson is holding my hand the entire drive into the large rainforest, he is assuring me that everything is going according to plan and nothing was showing up on gossip sites regarding the two of us. I still hold my breath waiting for the shoe to drop because our ceremony is tomorrow.
Our week here has been amazing and perfect, our friends and family all in one place with no cameras lurking in the shadows. Life felt so normal for once. Everyone that was hired for the wedding needed to sign a non-disclosure agreement with heavy fines if they broke them. We would get all original photos and videos taken; they wouldn't get to keep any copies.
Jackson was driving us in the rented convertible he needed for the day. I couldn't stop staring at him as we drove up the coast to our ceremony site. The California sun did wonderful things for his natural good looks. Tonight, he was wearing a pair of black dress pants and a simple white short-sleeve button-down. His hair was messy and completely out of control, it was perfect.
However, the thing that really bothered me about this entire outfit was the facial hair. I'm normally a giant fan, but this was out of control. Jackson hasn't shaven for months and his beautiful face was covered in a monstrous beard that can only be described as Grizzly Adamsish.
"I promise I will shave before the ceremony tomorrow." He laughs when he catches me looking at it.
"You are going to have such a tan line." I roll my eyes at him.
"And you look very beautiful. I like the highlights." He smiles.
The spa helped me lighten my already blonde hair even lighter. I had such a nice, golden tan from all the time we spent outside. I was wearing a black strapless dress and my skin just glowed from the sun and happiness coursing through my body.
"You suck. I'm being a bitch, and you kill me with kindness. I'm sorry." I frown at him.
"Ava, I love you."
"I love you too." I lean over and kiss him when he puts the car in park.
Once we part, he races around the car to open my door. My heels immediately sink into the ground, and he gives me a smirk. He told me back at the hotel that heels wouldn't be a good idea, but I didn't listen because they complimented the dress.
"Need help?" He grabs my hand.
"Nope. I'm doing just fine." I tell him stubbornly.
"Welcome to your perfect wedding ceremony, Mrs. Williams." He makes me look ahead of us and I can start to see some of the decorations.
"Jax, I don't need all of this. London was perfect for me. This is for our families. I just need you." I look at him.
"Ava, we do need this. We've waited for so long and I just want to make it special for us, how it should be."
I wipe the tears from my eyes and hug him. "I don't know what I ever did to deserve you."
"Want to go look?" He points ahead of us.
"YES," I shout.
My heels sink each time I step, and he shakes his head at me. Before I know what is happening, he sweeps me off my feet and carries me in his arms through the tall trees. Our bridal party and wedding coordinator, Kira is waiting in the clearing.
"Avery, this place is gorgeous." Lexie smiles when she sees us.
Jackson sets me down on my feet and I look around at the space. The trees are draped in twinkling lights, lanterns, and flowers. Some of the branches are holding tealights hung with colored silk ribbons. I feel like I'm in a fairytale that I could only dream of.
