I woke up to the sight of green. So much green. I briefly panicked before remembering what had happened last night. I had found an alien, a very friendly alien, brought him into my house, and fell asleep together. Was this a dream or had I finally lost it? No, this wasn't a dream, it was reality. I turned over and tried to get out but he was holding to me relativity tightly. I blushed a bit considering how protectively he was holding me. I didn't want to keep trying because I worried I would wake him up. I looked up over the couch slightly, granted I was being held down a bit so I couldn't really see much, but I saw that it was only early morning.
'Maybe cuddling a little longer won't be so bad,' I thought to myself. I lied back down and snuggled into the fur. A couple minutes later, I felt him moving around a bit. 'Looks like he is starting to wake up.' He continued to move a little bit more before finally stirring awake. "Morning," he said sleepily. "Good Morning," I said. I turned to face him and then we realized what position we were in. We both blushed a bit and sat up.
"You know, you never told me anything about you, like your name," said Evergreen. "Oh, I didn't realize, I guess I was just tired. My name is Jack, Jack Timber," I said. "I like that name!" he said happily. I blushed a little, no one had complimented my name before. "T-Thanks, no one has ever complimented my n-name before," I said shyly. "How? That's an amazing name, people should be recognizing it more and how good it is!" he said excitedly. I blushed even more. "W-well you see, my name is pretty common," I said. "Oh, well I still think it's a cool name!" he said, smiling. Now, at this point, I was blushing so hard, I was practically a tomato.
"Why are you so red? I don't really know much about your species, are you sick or something?" questioned Evergreen. "N-No, I'm not sick, I'm just b-blushing." I said. "Why are you blushing?" he asked, smirking. "Is it because of my compliments?" he added. "M-Maybe," I said. "Aw, that's adorable," he said. "T-Thanks," I said.
"Anyways, tell me more about yourself, what is your family like?" He started. "Well, my family is nothing to write home about, just your typical suburban family. My dad works at a tech company, and my mom works in a law firm. They were always busy though, but I did have things to entertain myself with, like a computer, console, and a phone. For school, I didn't really have many friends. I mean, I have a couple close friends, but I am not a very social person, so I never made an effort to make more friends. I always did well in school though! I got good grades and was a good student. Once I graduated high school, I went out and got a job, rented an apartment, and here we are." I finished. "Interesting. I do have two questions though. Number one, how is the job going? Number two, did you keep in contact with your friends?" he said. "My job is going alright. It's not the most fun thing, but I don't hate it. To answer your second question, yes and no. I still have their contacts but we haven't talked in years." He nodded. "Anyways, I am going to go take a shower. Feel free to look around the place." He gave me a thumbs up and I took that as my cue to go clean up.
Once I was done cleaning up, I step out and scan the apartment. I notice Evergreen on the couch fiddling with the TV remote. I start walking towards the couch but before I do glance outside. It looks to be around 10 or 11 AM. I finished my short walk to the couch and sat down next to Evergreen. "Need some help?" I ask. "Yes please," he says. I show him how to use the remote and he finds a channel he likes. "Thanks Jack!" he says. "No problem," I responded. I walk over to the kitchen and start making some food because I was starving. 'You hungry Evergreen?" I half yell from the kitchen. "Yes, I'm starving!" he responds back. I start making some pancakes.
After around 15 minutes, I finished making the pancakes and I set them down at the table. "Foods ready!" I say. "Coming!" I hear him making his way over to the table. He sits down and I pass him his share of pancakes and I grab mine for myself. "Want syrup?" I question. "Sure," he says. I pour some syrup on my pancakes and pass him the syrup. He pours some for himself and cuts a piece and takes a bite. "Mmm this is really good!" he exclaims. "Oh come on they aren't that good, just your standard pancakes," I say. "Then these must be extra special pancakes!" he chuckles. "Thanks, I try my best," I smile.
"You know, we had some similar stuff back at my planet, before it, well, imploded," says Evergreen. "Oh jeez. Sorry to hear that! Actually, that reminds me of something, tell me about yourself, what was your life like before your planets implosion?" I say. He pauses. "Er, it's a long story, are you sure you want to hear it?" he asks. "Sure, I love long stories." I respond. "Alright then, where to start..."
