It was hectic. People were running around, gathering their items, saying their goodbyes, and moving off into their designated squads. “You know for a revolution, this is a lot more organized than I would’ve imagined,” I said. “Hah! We have spent a lot of time training and what not, so hopefully it has paid off,” Jovian said. “Hey, quick question,” Jack said. Jovian looked back at Jack with an inquisitive look. “What are we going to be doing?” he asked. Jovian seemed to go into thought for a second, staring off into space. “You guys will travel with me and my squad. We are going to be leading the people through and making our way to the rendezvous point, where there are vehicles for us to escape, got it?” she said. We nodded. “Good, alright, you guys go ahead and get armed and ready, I will go checkup on Germia and get ready myself, see you on the field boys.” With that, she walked out of the room and towards the infirmary. We walked over to the armory that Vitrex showed us when he first brought us here. “I guess we get to choose our weapons,” Jack said. There was a lot to choose from. It had pistols, rifles, light machine guns, you name it! One gun stood out to me among the rest though. It was a large revolver, with the engraving of “127” on the side of the barrel. “Huh, no ammo seems to be around for this,” I said. “Oh? Found 127 over there huh?” We turned around and saw Maricio standing there. “Oh, hello there. We were just getting ready for this fight. What’re you doing here?” I asked. “Before I answer that, I noticed you questioned why there wasn’t any ammo for that revolver,” he said. “Yes, I did. Do you know why?” I responded. “Well, whenever I used that thing, every time I went to reload, another speedloader would appear in my pocket, even though there hadn’t been one before. It seems that the thing is capable of regenerating ammunition,” he said. I looked at the revolver in disbelief. That’s impossible. “Where-Where did you find it?” I asked. His face suddenly became still, before returning to normal again. “I need to go get ready and return to my group, I’ll see you guys later, hopefully.” He turned and walked into a different room. I turned to look at Jack. He had the same look of disbelief, if not more of distrust. “You believe him Jack?” I said. He looked at the revolver then back at the revolver. “We’ll see.”

My visor lit up with a notification. It seems I was being called from Jovian. I answer. “Hello? How did you-” I got cut off. “No time right now, make your way to the main entrance, our group is waiting for you guys.” The call ended. “Did...Jovian just call you...through you?” Jack questioned. “I think so. No idea how though,” I answered. We started towards the main entrance. “Life is full of mysteries,” he said. “Heh, you can say that again,” I said.

Once we arrived, we noticed there was quite the gathering inside and outside the door. Jovian walked towards us. “Alright, I already gave the briefing but all you guys need to do is listen and stay close to me and with our group. We’ll protect you guys in case there is a fight. Got it?” she said. “Got it,” me and Jack said in unison. She nodded and gestured us to follow her towards the front of the group. Jovian moved her hand in a swirling motion, which by the response of the group meant it was time to move out. ‘Here goes nothing,’ I thought.

We stuck by the Jovian as we made our way through the courtyard and into the prison itself. Suspiciously, there were no guards around. One would think this would be a good thing, but considering it’s been awhile since the distraction, the guards would’ve returned by now. “You know, I don’t have a good feeling about this,” I said to Jovian. “Yeah, same here buddy, something doesn’t feel right,” she responded. As we continued, I could hear faint gunshots and yelling. Sounds like there is some fighting going on. Eventually, we found ourselves at the main office. I started walking to the door but one of our group members stopped me. “Let a few of us go in and make sure it’s clear before you go risking your life,” Jovian said. “But we are already risking our lives!” I answered. “Hmm, fair point, but stay here anyway, it’s safer,” she said back. A minute later, they came back out. “Building is clear, go in and search around quickly, we must move to the rendezvous before it’s too late,” she exclaimed. The only thing I wanted to check was the security cameras. I pulled up the feeds on the main computer and looked around. “Nothing, nothing, nothing, noth-Wait is that Germia?!” I said in shock. Near the rendezvous, it seems they have been pinned down by a bunch of guards. I turned and booked it outside. “JOVIAN! JOVIAN!” I shouted. “What? What’s wrong Evergreen?” she said, shocked by my screaming. I stopped to catch my breath. “Germia. He’s-He’s pinned down near the rendezvous with the others, we need to move, fast,” I said. She nodded. “Alright everyone let’s high tail it to the rendezvous!”

We ran as fast as we could towards Germia and the others. As we got there, we could see where they were taking cover from the fire of all the guards. We stopped and looked at each other. This is it, this was the culmination of months of training, well like a day of training for me and Jack, it was up to us to save them. Let’s do this. “On the count of 3, you two get in sniper positions and pick em off, you three take up our rear incase reinforcements arrive, and the rest of us will ‘clean up the garbage’,” Jovian commanded. “3...2...1...Now!” We went outside and took cover. Jovian started firing on the guards closing in on the other squad, I gave this revolver a spin. ‘Ok, let’s see how this works,’ I thought. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Click. I ejected the spent casings and then felt something in my hand. Impossible. It was another 6 shots. I didn’t have time to think though as the guards started to turn our attention towards us. Jack had been picking off the guards with his pistol, but was starting to run out of ammo. “Hey Evergreen! We need to wrap this up soon! I might have to start using my fists!” he joked. I laughed and continued to fight back as the guards ramped up the heat. “HEY, COVER YOUR EARS!” Jovian shouted. As me and Jack did, she lit up and let out some sort of sonic wave, which seemed to disorientate the guards. After that little move, we were able to pick off the rest of the guards. We rushed over to Germia and his squad once the fight had ended. “Are you okay Germia?” Jack asked, concerned. “Yeah, we are fine, just a little shaken up, that’s all. Thanks for coming to help us, I thought for sure we weren’t going to make it,” he said. “Hey, after how you’ve treated us, I think it’s about time we returned the favor,” I said, smiling. He smiled back. Jovian walked over to us. “Glad you got your little family reunion out of the way, but we need to move, the others will be arriving soon and we need to be there,” Jovian interrupted. “Okay, come on, let’s go,” I said, helping Germia up. “Always knew I could count on you guys,” he said.

Arriving at the rendezvous, it seemed we were the first there. “Alright, the others should be arriving soon, granted they didn’t have any hiccups with their part of the plan,” she said. A few minutes later, Vitrex’s squad arrived. “You guys doing okay?” she asked. “A few of us are roughed up, but nothing we couldn’t handle, right Maricio?” he asked. Maricio shook his head as if Vitrex had told a bad joke. “You guys upheld your part of the plan I presume?” she continued. “Yup, explosives have been placed in all the right places,” he said. “Wait, explosives?” I said, surprised. “Oh yeah, we might’ve forgotten to tell you guys but we are going to blow this place up, cripple the GMC’s production, at least a little. More to send a message than anything,” she finished. “What about all the other prisoners?” I added, worried. “Don’t worry, they are being escorted along with us, that is what the other squads are doing,” she said. After another few minutes, the other squads arrived. “Ah, there you all are. You all have the prisoners?” she asked. They nodded. “Good, alright, everyone pack up, we are going on a trip.”

Never thought I’d see space again but, here we are, traveling to the GMC’s main station for our final assault, with Jack by my side. It’s time we strike back at the GMC for all the wrongs they have done, to our people, to US. Let’s go give them a taste of their own medicine...
