“They were making protogens!” I exclaimed. “Wait, what? How?” said Evergreen. “I don’t know, but when I came out of the basement, I found myself in the testing area and I found some audio logs,” I answered. “So, let me get this straight, they made protogens here? I mean I knew we came from somewhere but I wasn’t expecting we were made here,” Evergreen responded. “Yeah, it's crazy. Wait, so then how do you end up on a entirely different planet?” I questioned. “I don’t know, but we should confront Celestial about this, maybe she knows some more about all of this,” said Evergreen. “Good idea,” I said.

We walked over to where Celestial was sitting and sat down across from her. “Celestial, we need to ask you something,” I prompted. “Yeah, what’s up?” she responded. “Did you guys make-” I was cut off by the sound of an alarm going off. “What is that?” I asked, surprised by the sudden sound. “Oh no, something has entered the area that isn’t friendly. Quick, follow me to the radar room,” said Celestial. I looked over to Evergreen, he had a scared and worried expression on his face. “Hey don’t worry bud, we’ll be alright, hopefully it’s just a false alarm,” I comforted. “I hope so too, but I have a bad feeling about this,” said Evergreen. “I do too, but we’ll get through this,” I continued. He got up and walked over and hugged me. I hugged him back. After that, we followed Celestial to the radar room. Once we walked in, she greeted us with a blank expression.

“I have some good news, and some bad news,” she started. “I guess bad news first,” said Evergreen. “Bad news first? Okay then, GMC patrols have landed within the area,” she responded. Evergreen’s expression went from worried to frightened in seconds. “G-GMC? H-Here?” he stammered. “I’m afraid so, but good news is that they have not found the facility yet, but that could change in due time, so we should prepare for that,” she said. “R-Right. We should prepare,” he responded. “Good. I will get some supplies from the West side of the facility, I’ll be back soon, stay here,” she commanded. “Will do,” he said. Celestial walked over to the door and left the room, leaving me and Evergreen alone. We sat around for a little while, waiting for Celestial to come back with the supplies. I’m pretty sure we are going to try and plan an escape and get away from the GMC, but considering how fast they got here, I don’t think running would do any good, at least on Earth.

‘It’s been like 30 minutes already, how long does it take to get supplies?’ I thought. I was starting to get worried. Had they already breached the facility? Had Celestial been captured? No, I had to think rationally, there is no way they’ve found the facility already, this place is really well hidden and Celestial can handle herself.

“Danger. Unauthorized access into the facility at West Entrance,” blared the machine. We both looked at each other. We had to hide. We got up and went into a storage room and hid in a corner. I could hear heavy footsteps beyond the walls and chattering. “Check all the rooms, and make sure none of them escape,” said a voice. “You got it boss,” said another voice. This was really not good, as if they were already this close, it was only a matter of time before they were found out. “Hey buddy, any way you can try and get us out of here?” I asked. “I’m not sure, but I could try something,” he responded. I saw his visor light up with more elements, and saw him click something. “Danger. Power cell units damaged. Repair required for ability,” read a message. “Well crap,” said Evergreen. “What does that mean?” I said. “It means I can’t use any of my abilities, or at least any that could help us escape,” responded Evergreen, a sad look coming across his now normal visor. This was not looking good.

A few minutes later, I heard the door open and footsteps flood the radar room. “Search the room, we must find them,” said a voice. I huddled closer to Evergreen. He wrapped his tail around me protectively. The door to where we were hiding suddenly burst open and a flurry of yelling ensued. “ON THE GROUND!” “HANDS UP!” We both complied, as we didn’t want to risk being shot, considering they were armed. They put futuristic looking handcuffs on both of us. They lead us back out to the main room. I noticed some people talking. ‘Wait, one of those people looks familiar,” I thought. “Hey boss, we found them,” said a short man, pushing us onto the ground. “Ah, good job Germia, it’s about time we found them,” said a tall, pale skinned man. “Celestial, thank you for the intel,” said The Boss. “You’re welcome sir,” said Celestial. “Celestial? What the hell?! You work for them?!” I exclaimed. “Yes, I do. I knew you had most likely found out what I had done in the past, so I knew I couldn’t let you escape. I was getting tired of playing that “nice” facade for so long,” she responded. I sat there, baffled. I had trusted her, and she betrays us like this. I looked over at Evergreen, he just had a blank expression on his face. “Thank you again Celestial, but your services are no longer needed,” says The Boss. The short man, who I assume to be Germia, comes around and places handcuffs on her as well. “Wait, what are you doing?!” she said, panic rising in her voice. “Nothing personal, just business,” said The Boss. He pressed a button and suddenly she started screaming. It was the worst, most painful screams I have ever heard. After around 30 seconds, they just stopped. “Clean up the body, then once we’ve extracted the prisoners, burn the place,” said The Boss. The other guards nodded.

We were escorted back outside and onto a ship. As we started taking off, I looked out onto the world we were leaving behind, now being transported to god knows where to do god knows what. I looked back over at Evergreen, and he still had a blank expression on his face. I stared back out the window as we exited Earth’s atmosphere and into the deep, dark void of space.
