Before we get started with today’s story, I would just like to thank everyone for 1,000 views! That is an insane number and I did not expect this story to hit it in such a short amount of time, but we did thanks to yall commenting and voting! Anyways, onto the story!

3 ships hurtled through the outer reaches of the solar system. The lead ship, which housed the Boss, was followed by 2 other ships, which carried scout drones and backup men.

“How much longer until we reach Earth?” said The Boss. “1 day and 2 hours,” replied the ship’s computer. “So, what exactly are we dealing with when we get to this planet?” asked The Boss. “Well, there are intelligent creatures like us. They refer to themselves as “Humans”. Their planet is roughly 70% water, with the rest being landmass. They also have governments and what not,” responded Germia. “Their technology is also similar to us, but it lags behind about 100 or so years,” added Germia. “I see,” said The Boss. “Will they attack us if we introduce ourselves, or should we do this quietly?” questioned The Boss. “Well, from my research, they are afraid of things they don’t know, but they also might be willing to talk. No matter what we do, it is still risky,” said Germia. “What about that area the EG-7351 landed in?” said The Boss. “Ah yes, I used the scan data from the drone that we sent down there ahead of us and the escape pod’s data to get an accurate map of the area, and as it turns out, about 200 meters below the surface, there is a facility. It seems like it was built long ago but I cannot pinpoint exactly when,” replied Germia. “Okay, but why is it disrupting our tech?” said The Boss. “I’m not sure, maybe something was reactivated or some sort of EMP was used, but that is just a guess,” said Germia. “We will have to find out when we get there,” said The Boss. “Yes we will,” said Germia.

I opened my eyes slowly, I looked around and saw the Evergreen was cuddling me again, just like the first time we did. I smiled, but this time it felt...different. I felt butterflies in my stomach and my face heat up. Why was I so flustered? What makes this time different? Maybe it was because I have spent more time with Evergreen and got to know him, and maybe, just maybe, might be developing feelings for him. I got even more red at the thought. I also thought about what happened yesterday. People were supposedly tracking Evergreen, which made me worried. I didn’t want to be getting involved in other people’s business, but at the same time, I was worried what would happen if I didn’t help Evergreen. But before I could think any further, I felt Evergreen stir awake. “Good morning Jack,” he said with a sleepy expression. His face then turned from sleepy to worried when he saw my expression. “Are you okay Jack? You look worried about something,” he said. “Yeah, I’m worried about you and what might happen,” I said. “Hey, don’t be worried about me, it’s going to be okay,” he said reassuringly. “Well, we are dealing with a massive Galactic company looking for you, who knows what they will do to me,” I said with a scared look. “Jack, look at me,” he said. I look at him. “I won’t let them hurt you. I would sacrifice myself If I had to,” he said confidently. I stared at him with a shocked expression. ‘Did he just say he’d sacrifice himself for me?’ I thought. “Anyways, I’m pretty sure you have work soon, so I would go get ready for that,” said Evergreen. “Oh yeah, r-right,” I said.

I got up and went to get ready for work. I changed into work clothes and went to the bathroom to freshen myself up. Once I was done, I stepped back out into the main room. “Alright Evergreen, I’m going to work, I’ll see you soon,” I said. “Okay, see you soon!” he said from the couch. I walked over to the door and grabbed my keys. I opened the door and gave one more look at Evergreen before making my way to the car.

Once Jack had left, I pulled up my map on my visor. I looked at the data from the escape pod about the area. That underground facility seemed oddly familiar. Looking at the layout, it doesn’t seem like something humans would’ve built. We’ll have to find a way in and explore for ourselves. I continued looking at the map until I received a message. ‘Strange, who could it be from?’ I thought to myself. I clicked it and it started playing. “Hello EG-7351, or Evergreen. I know you are receiving this message. I believe you know me, so need for introductions. We are coming to retrieve you, and punish you accordingly for escaping, and capture anybody you’ve made contact with. I must admit, I’m proud of how you escaped, but it is going to be all for nothing. See you soon.” I started to worry, does this mean they will capture Jack if they find us? I can’t let that happen. We have to get in that facility before they find us.

But how?
