I wake up and hear the hatch on the door open. “Hey you two, get up. It’s time for work.” It must be one of the guards. The hatch slides close and silence once again overtake the room. I nudge Jack. “Hey buddy, it’s time to get up,” I said. He groaned. “Already?” he asked groggily. “Yes, now come on, we have work to do,” I responded, getting out of bed. I walked over to the door and waited for Jack to come over. Once he came over, I knocked on the door. A guard opened it. “Alright, follow me and I’ll lead you to where you need to be. Your Group Master will explain what you will be doing,” said the guard. “Who exactly is the Group Master?” asked Jack. “Well, the GM is kind of like the leader of the Group, or at least oversees the people. They don’t control much else. Last I remember, the Group Master is a guy going by the name of Vitrex. Odd fellow that one is,” answered the guard. ‘I wonder why the guard thinks he is odd, guess we’ll find out soon enough,” I thought. A few minutes of walking later and we arrived at the entrance to the mine. I saw a bunch of other prisoners taking the elevators down to the mines. “Okay, once you go down the elevator, you will arrive at the upper area of the mines. These will be your relaxation zones, where you can spend your break time. Follow the sign that says “Master Building” and talk to the GM. Good luck,” finished the guard. We both nodded and stepped inside the elevator with some other prisoners. We rode down and eventually arrived and started to look for the building.

“You know, you think finding a building in a large cavern would be easy, but no,” complained Jack. “Oh come on, we haven’t been walking for that long, besides, it says it’s only down this large hallway here. Oh see, there it is,” I said. A small building could be seen towards the end of the hallway. We walked up to it and knocked on the door. A man answered the door. “Ugh, what is it this time Pas-You guys aren’t Pascal. Who are you?” asked the man. “Name’s Jack,” said Jack. “I’m Evergreen,” I said. “Ah, you two are the new guys huh? I’m assuming you’re here to see the GM?” he questioned. “Yes,” I answered. “Well, he isn’t here right now, but he will be back soon. Come on in and take a seat in the waiting room. Names Trout,” he said. “Nice to meet you,” said Jack. “Same as well,” I added. We sat down in the waiting room and began to wait for the GM to arrive.

I heard a door slam open. “Ugh! I am sick of these damn guards! When work gets slow, what do they do? Punish us even more! Like that will help us work faster!” Me and Jack turned our gazes towards the door and saw a Protogen standing there. They seemed to be wearing some sort of metal plating, resembling armor. It was midnight black and had streaks of crimson paint on it. Its visor also seemed to be bulkier. It was also most likely armored. We made eye contact. “Who are you?” they asked. “Evergreen, and,” I pointed at Jack. “Jack.” “I see, well if you are here, I’m guessing you are here to see me?” they asked. “Are you the GM?” said Jack. “Yes, I am,” they answered. “Well, follow me then, into my office.” He beckoned us into his office.

We sat down in front of his desk. “Okay. So you two are new here. Let me see what I need to cover.” He rifled through some documents before finding the right one. “Ah, here we go. Okay, “Group B Initiation Procedures”. Let me begin, “You have been selected for Group Bravo! Congratulations. You will be mining for resources and transporting them, where they will be processed and valued. Depending on your sentence and group, your quota will be different. Your GM will give you a tour of the facility and teach you basic knowledge of how things work. Any problems you may have go to the GM.” We hope you enjoy your stay yada yada, you get the gist. Anyways, you lot ready to go on the tour now?” he said. We nodded. “All right, let’s get a move on.”
