Janae's words were like an earworm to Carina.
It just wouldn't go away and every time she faced her aunt, it just kept repeating on her head that Erinae didn't care about her.
That night after Janae's mysterious visit, Carina didn't spoke a word to Erinae, not even a simple greeting and went directly to sleep, and woke up in the morning with an even more snarky mood and this time it wasn't even a argument that made her want to go on her daily soar.
It was just a mere mortal girl or whatever she was and her triggering words that wouldn't stop bothering her, it seemed like every person that smiled at her made her think that they were just doing it for the former Princepine.
For three days, Carina spent trying to look for the stupid girl trying to find her and confront her and then maybe kill her for closure.
But her efforts were futile and Janae was still out there. Her entire story seemed suspicious to Carina, a wanderer who found someone who cared for her and was still trying to find her place?
And just who was this man who made her feel so loved? She spoke of her parents with so much malice but this man was described with a happy and loving tone.
If she finds everyone else in this world as snobby and good for nothing prejudiced beings then what was so special about this one mysterious man?
An entire week had passed since that day in the Field of Praevolo and even that place didn't bring her the comfort and warmth that it once used to.
Ever since then, the flowers that used to glow for her never did now anymore and was just dim, she also noticed that it glowed when other Lumerians came.
She also completely stopped talking to Erinae and spent her time either flying or laying on a tree branch napping.
Then another anomaly decided to make his appearance.
It was one of her usual mundane days where she was just walking and exploring the same forest over and over again, this time she didn't use her wings.
Carina never had any outlets, she never learned how play a fiddle or a lyre, or the sitar, she couldn't dance to anything or sculpt or draw, and simply didn't have any talents.
Lumeris had it's warriors and she always wanted to be a warrior and being a woman wasn't the problem, it was that she looked too frightening to people and it was Erinae that said these words.
The only she was good at was ruining people days and she seemed to take great pride in her only talent.
Sunlight escaped from the canopy of the thick trees as it poked holes through the green forests, the only sound was of the hooves of deers and does and the birds that were chirping on the trees.
A twig suddenly snapped from near her, for a second Carina thought that it was just an animal but when a very humane groan came, she was alarmed and so was the real animals who escaped screaming bloody murder to their families.
"Who are you?!" Carina was asking this same question a lot nowadays.
She half expected it to be Janae because of the similar navy blue cloak that she wore and this person did too.
This time it was a man, though. He was average in height with dark brown hair that was cut short and looked quite messy with strands hanging above his forehead, he had a sharp face and jawline, he also had blue eyes like Janae but his looked cunning in a way.
"I don't mean any harm! I got lost, ma'am!"
Carina scoffed. "Got lost! If you're here for my wings, at least tell it to my face!"
