Two hours later, Celine almost squealed when she saw the Castle in the distance.

"Come on Marcus!" She whined from behind.

He chuckled at her enthusiasm. "If I'd known you were that excited I would've just carried you all the way there."

She gaped at him. "Then why didn't you? We could've cut a mile at least from our journey!" She groaned.

She rambled on and didn't notice Marcus creeping behind her. "They might we waiting there for us for such a long while and here we- AHHHH!" She squeaked as he picked her from the ground and threw her over his shoulder.

She looked mortified. "What are you-

"Shh! We don't want to wake anyone up right now." He smirked.

Celine groaned and hid her embarrassed face from Demetri and Felix who were pulling every string to not laugh.

"Fine, but when we are near, you better put me down!" She huffed.

"And why should I?" He asked amused.

"Or else...I won't come near you for a whole week." She knew that was a weak one but couldn't think of something better.

"I'll take my chances." He hummed. "I don't think you would be able to resist being away from me."

"We can see about that." She challenged him.

"Oh we sure will!" He accepted it.

"Alright."

"What will the winner get?" He asked.

She narrowed her eyes. "Nothing."

"A winner always gets something."

"Yes, but they've already won something. If there is a gift, I think it should be for the loser, at least for trying."

"You're too nice."

....

After many threats from Celine that she would either scream and alert everyone or never speak to him again, Marcus let her go.

Not because of being scared about the threats or anything, he just let her have her way.

Or that's what his male pride wants to believe.

Celine gave him a kiss on the cheek as a gift. Well, he was a loser because....... well, he lost.

The gates of Volterra were finally visible to them and awaiting them was none other than Jane and Alec and one vampire Celine did not recognize smiling widely at her.

"That is Heidi. She is our fisher." Marcus explained.

She nodded. Celine didn't know what to think of their human blood diet but she understood why. For some vampires, animal blood was more appealing. Her mother only changed out of convenience. Otherwise, she would have never changed.

That however can't determine if they are good people or not.

The three vampires came forward to greet their king and Queen.

"My lady, it is wonderful to finally put a beautiful face to the name." The gorgeous woman with black hair said as she bowed.

"There is no need to call me that. My name is Celine." She felt a little appalled by all this bowing and 'Queen' stuff.

Heidi didn't respond but only smiled. "Then, Jane, Alec and I will take you to the kings."
