Geraltine felt as if she was being shocked when she saw Carina fall from the dark sky.

From what the trio read in the library, no Heir of Light or any pure immortal for that matter could never faint due to tiredness, so what was wrong with her?

She thought that maybe Aro would know the answer to that, but even his face listed nothing but cluelessness. If the longest living one among them also equipped with the most knowledge didn't know what to do, then what would happen to Carina?

Geraltine was about to leave the trio to go to her daughter and help Alicia with something, or it was an excuse to be close to her, but she couldn't for Matteo grabbed her hand.

She knew what the next steps to their plan were, and that it was dangerous and required her utmost attention but when Celine was in there unconscious and unwell.

Matteo spoke before she could yell at him. "It's time."

"But she's-"

"Geraltine, this is important." Korashia interrupted her with a stern voice.

"This is important too, Rashia. I don't think you understand what it means to care for someone." She yelled back at the girl.

Geraltine only realized what she said after she said it. She went to apologize but Korashia shook her head, she felt Matteo glaring at the back of her head.

"Kor-"

"If I didn't care, I wouldn't have been here in the first place."

Geraltine watched Korashia storm off, she was frozen, unable to get any words out of her mouth. Matteo looked at her with disapproving eyes before running after Korashia.

"Rashia! Wait!"

He yelled, catching up to her and grabbed her hand, she scowled turning towards him. "What?"

"She didn't mean it." He said softly.

"You don't know that."

"If you saw her face after that, then you would understand me."

Korashia sighed, shaking her head, something he noticed she did when she was annoyed with someone or in this case, it was him.

She was evidently annoyed when she noticed that he followed her inside the castle, even through the dark corridors that lead to one of the tallest towers in the palace, she had enough to prove that he was an insufferable little git.

"Her words don't mean anything to me. I'm just worried about our time left here." She said, finding her own little abode, stepping into the windowless area.

This place was dangerous as was it beautiful, there were no railings, only a roof at the top to prevent snow from falling down upon them, one step too far from the ledge would bring them to their doom.

Matteo often wondered why she chose danger over everything, like it was a calling for her, or maybe something she was never able to escape.

"I don't mean to offend you..." He began nervously. "..but why do you care about us so much? About the Volturi even after they locked you up?"

"I...I don't know."

Now that he asked of it, she truly was clueless as to why she was helping them, she didn't have to, she had every right to be mad at them but in the end she always ended up thinking about them...the good in them.

"I think I owe it to her...for saving my life..even after I tried to kill her, she defended me from her own mates. I..I will be forever thankful for that."
