Lucy joyfully turned off the TV and started doing her embarrassing happiness dance, not knowing that she was being watched by Natsu who casually leaned against the door, amused by her carefree personality.
Then she turned her head and hummed her favorite song until she realized who was standing in front of her.
She let out a loud shriek and tripped over her own foot, making her fall down hard on the big carpet.
At least she fell on a carpet, she thought as she rubbed her back in pain.
Natsu started laughing at her and didn't even bother to see or ask if she was alright.
„Jerk!" she called out and got up again.
„Why are you so happy though?" he asked after finally calming down and wiped his tears of laughter away.
„We don't have school for the rest of the week because of a storm that'll be here soon." she explained and jumped up and down.
It was obvious that she was happy to not go to school this week.
„Don't you like school?" he wondered.
„I do, but I don't like comforting you all the time on the bus rides." she said while throwing herself on the giant couch covered in pillows.
„We're in different classes. Today was the first time." he said and crossed his arms in offense.
„Yeah but I heard that our classes would be going together to those places for the rest of the week too." she replied.
„Ah..." he muttered and quietly sat down next to her.
„What's wrong?" she asked after looking at him for a while.
He was being unusually quiet, it was weird.
It looked like something was bothering him and she couldn't help but wonder what it was, secretly hoping that she could maybe help him.
„You said there was a storm coming...is it a bad one?" he tried hiding his face from her but she saw his worried looking eyes clearly.
„Most likely, otherwise they wouldn't shut everything down." Lucy raised an eyebrow at him as she tried figuring out what his problem was.
„So...only rain or..?" he paused.
„I guess everything? Rain, strong wind, thunder..." the blonde counted which made the pinkette wince in his seat, confusing the girl.
Then it hit her.
„Don't tell me you're scared." she cracked and eyed him up and down in entertainment.
Her amusement quickly went down though when he didn't joke with her nor did he even try to excuse or defend himself.
„That scared?" she asked again, but in a more gentle and soft voice which he liked so much.
As a response he only nodded.
„Mind telling me why? Is there a particular reason?" she moved closer to him, linking her arm with his to make him know that he wasn't alone.
„I wasn't that scared of it when I was a child...but I always wanted my parents to sleep with me whenever there was a storm like this because I didn't want to feel alone. They never agreed to it though. They told me I shouldn't be so immature and man up. I rather stayed up the whole night back then, than to sleep alone while there was a storm outside. Over the years I just got more scared of it for some reason." he told her, obviously hating the memory of it.
