The blonde clung to the boy with a happy smile on her face as they left the building together.

They just took their last final exam. Now they were finally free to do whatever they wanted.

„Natsu, let's go to your place." Lucy suggested as she gazed up at him with puppy-like eyes, knowing he would never refuse her.

„Sure." the boy grinned.
„My parents won't be home until next week." he added.

The girl was surprised to hear this. It was unusual for Natsu's parents to be gone for so long. It was more like something her parents would do- in this reality at least.

Therefore, she asked.
„Why?"

„I guess they're trying to earn more money. They've been out working in other states since my dad got a pretty good job opportunity." He explained as he shrugged his shoulders.

He didn't really care. He appreciated the time alone. The only disadvantage was that he couldn't cook, so he was forced to order food everyday.

„That must be lonely." Lucy mumbled, her expression worried. She understood how it felt like to be alone at home all the time.

In her dream she was never left alone by her parents. They were always there for her and never had to go on business trips.

But ever since she woke up, she had to come to the bitter realization that the reality was completely different.

Her parents were seldom home and assuming they were, only her mother would really speak to her. Even when he was at home, her father would ignore everyone and immerse himself in work.

He seemed to be only interested in his work and didn't care about anything else. Although he did seem to have a soft spot for Layla, her mother.

Layla and him were fighting almost everyday when they were home. They probably thought Lucy wouldn't notice, but of course she did.

Obviously, Layla did not condone Jude's behavior at all. Whenever they were arguing, it was always about him being a workaholic. Lucy could only speculate that they were close to divorcing.

Natsu knew right away why the blonde was so upset when he looked at her troubled face.

He probably knew her family better than she did and he was aware that her father was an asshole who made her miserable.

„I'm not lonely," he said as her attention turned back to him.
„And I'll make sure you'll never be lonely either." he grinned.

Her eyes immediately lit up and her mouth formed into a beautiful smile.

Yes. They would always be together, no matter what.

They had only a few meters to go before they reached Natsu's house, and Lucy was already excited to be alone with him.

It appeared as though Lucy and Natsu had switched personalities in this world. She was bold, straightforward and ready to do it with him anytime- while he was shy and tried his best to delay their intimacy.
