„Laxus?" Lucy's eyes widened as she looked up to see him. Her best friend.

Or boyfriend.

Natsu remained sitting behind her as she stood up to face the tall blonde.

The pinkette was not sure if he could contain his anger any longer. The more he looked at him, the more irritated he got.

The man in front of them was likely to be the reason why Lucy got hit by a car in the first place.

He was the reason why he nearly lost the love of his life.

He took her away from him. Twice.

Natsu gritted his teeth as he stood up as well, still staying behind Lucy.

Laxus didn't fail to notice the intimidating aura behind the blonde. The glare was sharper than any dagger could be. He looked like a predator protecting his prey from other hunters.

„Do you feel better?" Laxus attention turned back to her.

Natsu scoffed.
Why would he act like he cared?
He was definitely trying to fool Lucy. Just to win her back.

„I do." Lucy smiled. She was unsure of what to do.

She obviously didn't want to be his girlfriend anymore- but breaking up in public was a bit harsh and embarrassing.

„What are you doing here anyway?" Lucy asked him. Clearly, they had not invited him.

„He probably has a date with some chick." Natsu spit out, stepping closer to the girl.

Laxus raised his eyebrow at the boy. Yes, he was no fool. Of course he knew of the feelings Natsu had for his girlfriend. He always knew.

Natsu and him never got along. They rivaled in almost every aspect with each other.

After Lucy agreed to date him, he knew he already had the upper hand. To retaliate against Natsu, it was the ultimate victory card.

Lucy was a sweet girl. Pretty and nice. She would never, however, sleep with him or kiss him. She seldom did anything with him other than continuing to go on boring dates and talk about Natsu, her dearest friend.

He always knew Lucy crushed on her best friend- and the only reason why she agreed to date him in the first place was to get over her one sided feelings.

Of course, Laxus never told her that Natsu felt the same for her. He was probably even more in love than she was.

„I'm meeting a friend." Laxus answered, ignoring Natsu's comment.

Natsu however, didn't stop.
„A friend? Or a girlfriend?" he provoked.

„Lucy is my girlfriend." Laxus grinned, watching the boy's jaw clench in irritation.

Laxus knew how to get under his skin, how to aggravate him, provoke him. Lucy had always been the perfect tool for that purpose.
