It was their prom night.

Lucy and her friends had worked hard all year, studying for their final exams, and had finally passed with flying colors. Not only that, but the blonde miraculously survived the car accident and had finally awoken from her coma. She successfully made up with her father and her best friend Natsu finally turned into her boyfriend.

Although she did not have as much time to study as the others did, she still managed to claim the title of being the best student of the year with her grades.

Now they were ready to enjoy the fruits of their labor and kick off their senior year in style.

With their solid academic foundation, the world was their oyster and all of them had a bright future ahead.

The prom night served as a milestone, a celebration of not only their hard work, but the fact that their dear friend had survived and was able to graduate with them.

The boys suited up, wearing matching black tuxes, and prepared to go to the prom. It had been a long process of getting ready, from picking out the right suits to carefully arranging their hair to the last small details like selecting the right kind of accessories.

Natsu let his bangs fall down his forehead, something he only did to please his girlfriend who had begged him not to style his hair up like he usually did.

You look so much hotter like that!.. she said. And who was he to refuse her big brown puppy eyes?

He would pick her up from her house...or rather, from her mansion. Jude insisted that his daughter would be driven to the party in a limousine that he purposely had paid for.

Again, how could Natsu refuse such an offer? He'd be able to show off not only his gorgeous girlfriend, but he would also have the honor to act like he was a wealthy snob.

His own parents had made a lot of money as well in the last few months and were often on trips because of their growing business.

That hardly bothered him. He was just glad when his parents could finally see Lucy after she woke up from her coma. And they were over the moon when they found out that their son finally dared to make her his girlfriend.

Jude gained more and more respect for Natsu and his parents, especially after hearing about the family's financial successes.
Natsu was financially secure, which meant he could take good care of his daughter in the future. That fact alone calmed him and his doubts.

The sun was setting as the pinkette approached her parents' mansion. He had waited all day to see the blonde, and now he was standing outside the gates of her family estate. His heart raced and he could feel his palms beginning to sweat in anticipation.

He wasn't the type to get nervous. Heck, he wasn't even nervous when they received the results for their final exams.

Lucy was the only woman in the world who managed to make his heart skip a beat without even being present.

Layla and Jude beckoned him inside, and he felt as though he was in a dream. Never in this life would he have expected to be welcomed by Lucy's father. It was almost scary to think about all the things that have changed in their lives after that accident.
