Roman's Point Of View;

                                         ~~~~~~~
In over a thousand years of existence, I've never met a single soul nearly as remarkable as the female known as, October Wright.
Just her presence makes my primal extinct scratch, and beg to be unleashed to make her mine and mine only. Yet, my mind tells me that I have to be selfless with her; exposing her to this type of world would be one of the most harmful thing I could do to her. I never want to harm her in any way, but the beast the lays just below the surface knows that I can never leave her, and my mind agrees. But how do you come to care for someone and mate them without that person knowing the deep dark truth?
My mind swirls in an abyss of thoughts as we make our way to our dinner reservations. October sits beside me in the limo I had to come drive us around for the night, her laughter ringing throughout my ears; pulling me out of these thoughts and causing me to smile admirably at her. 'This girl could do no wrong.' My mind urges. I sit there quietly listening to her melody like laughter, and soft voice converse as we pull up to our first destination.
We stop outside of Vinni's Italian Restaurant. It was a small, yet very romantic restaurant in the heart of the City. The limo driver opens the door for us to exit; I slide out first, extending my hand to October to take. She peers up at me through those long, thick lashes, giving me a grateful smile as she accepts me hand and gets out.
As the others pile out behind us, we all make our way into the dimly lit restaurant. The hostess ushers us to our seating area, without even asking the name that held the reservation. In slight annoyance I follow behind her, holding October's hand like an anchor, knowing she was the only thing from keeping me from ripping this perky little blonde's head off.
I pull October's chair out for her before taking my own seat. I'm not sure why she brings out the complete gentleman in me, but it was a complete foreign feeling; a welcoming one that I would gladly embrace just for her.
By the way she has been acting towards me since we officially met it seems like she feels some sort of pull for me. I can only keep reminding myself, the same star. But what if she rejects my affection?
These thoughts consume me until I hear the waiter ask what we would like to drink,
"A bottle of pink champagne and a bottle of gold champagne, please." I say, turning my head only briefly towards him.
My attention to the beautiful woman who sits to my right side. A smile spreading like wild fire on my lips. She returns my smile and playfully nudges my shoulder. I give her a chuckle and shake my head.
"Roman, now that the process has been completed I need to tell you a very important and specific." My Mother takes my hand and leads me towards the stone bench by the pond.
It has been about two weeks since I've changed, and have learned the basics. But my Mother told me there is one crucial thing I must learn, ever since she has said that and nothing more my mind hasn't stopped working endlessly trying to find the answer.
I nod my head eagerly and urge her to continue, she gives me a half hearted smile and continued on the subject,
"As you know, our species develop mates. You never really know when, how, where, anything about how you are going to find that one special person. But there will be a pull, and you must not fight it." She looks at me strictly, knowing how much of a handful I can be.
I give her my infamous mischievous smirk, she just shakes her head lightly laughing.
"Continuing, and as you know, we aren't quite like our species; we are originals. We are the most powerful, intellectual, fastest, knowledgeable of our kind. We have abilities others do not. But we don't get to attain our full potential until we find our beloved.
Roman, this is the most important part. When the originals were made a witch put a curse upon us. When you and your siblings were born a specific star shot across the dark sky for each of you. Signalling other species, allowing them to try to hunt you down and take you out. Your Father and I kept you all safe, but the curse also affects your mate." My Mother says the last sentence more forcefully, showing the importance.
"That very same star will shoot across the sky when your mate is born. You have to find her before they do. Your mate is key to reaching your full potential, but your mate can also be your downfall... If she happens to die, you will wish you died along with her." My Mother warns, her eyes glossy with built up tears, "Find her Roman. Follow that pull."
