October's point of view.

                                    ~~~~~~~~~
My head spins from visions of Roman's monstrous face, and I feel my heart begin to break from fear.
The whole taxi ride was in an uncomfortable silence as traditional Indian music hummed through the haggard car speakers. Once in awhile I would feel Roman's eyes burning holes into my skin, making my heart race.
'Once he's done explaining, my friends and I are so out of here.' My mind reminds me, but I can feel my heart not complying with my better judgement. The stubborn thing.
Finally arriving at Roman's home, I slide out before he can reach more door and stomp towards the doors.
Roman quickly follows from behind, keeping an unwanted distance between the two of us. The warm air inside is a welcoming one from the cold bitter air outside.
I press the elevator button hard, tapping my foot impatiently. I glare ahead, not wanting to give Roman the satisfaction of a glance.
Finally inside the elevator Roman presses his floor, then enters his access code. The silence between the two of us kills me, but every time I open my mouth to say something only my warm breath comes out.
As the door slides open, I dash out, making my way to the living room and flopping myself down on the couch. Roman takes his seat on an black leather armchair across from me, staring at his folded hands.
I cross my arms on my chest, bracing myself for what crazy explanation have has to say.
"Look... October, I would never ever hurt you in any way, and I would never let anyone hurt you either." He begins, only giving me a brief glance before continuing, "What I'm going to tell you will sound unbelievable, but what you saw tonight... I just have to tell you." His words sound pained, almost making me feel bad for wanting an explanation.
"Just go on with it so I can get my things and leave." I snap harshly.
He sighs before staring up at me, "All those things you were taught to be afraid of in the night... the things that go bump in the night as you can also phrase it as. Are very much true. I happen to be one of them, a vampire as you call it." His face is emotionless, and words blank. I sit frozen, and unable to catch my breath.
"Anyhow, getting on with the more important things... I was born into the original vampire family. They are the most powerful of my kind." He states, blinking back any emotion that may burst out. "Well, when my siblings and I were born a witch placed a curse on us, a specific star shooting across the sky, to warn other species that an original child was born. My parents managed to keep us all safe until we came of age and decided to come one of them.
Well, this is where it starts getting real interesting. Every species have a mate, or as humans call them soulmates. The witch was smart though, she did not just curse us, but our mates as well." He states intently into my eyes waiting for a reaction.
I simply nod, urging him to continue on.
He sighs and diverts his attention back to his hands, "A star will shoot across the sky, a specific one, to signal that our mate has been born. My star... our star, was a bright blue one. It shot across the sky on July 30th, 1994 at exactly 10:58pm. You were finally born. It was the greatest day of my life. All the waiting was over, my time of being alone was finally over. I couldn't feel more alive than that very moment.
But that star wasn't just telling me you were born, it was telling every specie that the originals mate was. The thing with having a mate, they can completely destroy you and beg for death if lost. I watched my older brother go through it." He states coldly, his chest falling up and down heavily.
"Anyhow, as soon as I felt that pull towards to, I ran. I ran like hell, not stopping for anything and killing anything that got in my way of finding you. After months of searching, I finally found my precious Angel. You were so tiny and innocent looking. I made a promise to myself at that very moment that nothing ever bad will come to you.
And I kept it. I moved here, I would come check on you all the time to make sure you were okay. I watched you grow and become the beautiful, and amazing woman you are today, and couldn't be more proud." He smiles at the nostalgic my memories, rubbing his hands together.
I take a large gulp, shifting myself uncomfortably in my seat as I stare in disbelief at Roman, "If this is all true, why wouldn't you tell me this before? Met me sooner?" I question, pulling my eyebrows together.
He jumps from his seat, throwing his arms exasperated, "Would you have believed it more than you believe it now? I never wanted to bring this life upon you! You deserve so much more than I could ever give you. I try to act selfless with you, but the truth is I am a very selfish person. Especially when it comes to you. I was there the night your brother took his own life, my heart broke for you. I also broke my promise of never letting anything bad ever happen to you.
That's the moment I decided I couldn't stay away any longer. I had to have you, to protect you from any more pain. But at this very moment I'm not doing the very well."
There's truth in his words, a truth that made everything he spoke absorb into my being, even if I didn't want it too.
I get up from my seat, taking very cautious steps to my so called mate. My eyes studying every perfect detail about him.
I reach my hand to him, placing it upon his broad shoulder, "I believe it all Roman. I don't know why, but I just do. From the moment I first laid eyes on you, there has been some crazy pull. A yank that kept me gravitating to you. Wanting me to keep myself around you. And now I know why." I speak gently, urging him to look at me.
His eyes shoot up to mine, his face looking completely relieved and full of admiration. He pulls me into a constricting hug, and I hug him back with just as much intensity. He suddenly pulls back, leaving an ache to just have him hold me.
Then it happened, a kiss that felt like it set my body on fire. The amount of passion he put into the kiss I matched right back while wrapping my arms around his neck. After a few more moments like this, he slowly releases my lips from his.
The look he gives me has me melting from the inside out, "I will be here everyday, every second, every minute, making sure that one day you will be okay. No matter what, I will never leave you. And no matter how much you push me, I will pull myself right back to you. If you haven't got it by now, I will always love you, after all we come from the same star." Roman states softly, brushing my dark brown hair behind my ear.
My breath is sucked from my lungs, my eyes become like saucers. The sudden realization falls upon me, do I love him too? Can I love him this soon? Yet I keep getting the same answer, yes. Yes I do love him.
"I love you too, Roman Harper." I brush some of his raven colour hair behind his ear, an endearing smile written on my face.
With that he sweeps me into his arms bridal style, running off in some direction I am not sure of from the nauseating feel.
Suddenly he sets me down on to, now that the world stops rushing pass me I can tell is a very large and plush bed.
"Now take that dress off, and let's get some sleep after this hectic day." He says cheekily, already stripping down to his boxers.
I giggle and nod my head obediently, standing up and unzipping my dress letting it fall to the ground. I kick my heels off and hop back onto the bed. I pull the heavy black duvet back, sliding underneath and nuzzling into the softness.
Roman quickly follows suit, pulling me against his chest and nuzzles his face into my hair, breathing in my scent.
"I love you October, always." He mumbles almost incoherently.
A smile never leaves my lips for a moment, "I love you too, Roman Harper. Always."
Then exhaustion hits me hard, and I slowly start to slip into the most blissful sleep I have ever had.
