WHAT! I couldn't believe what I was seeing! This looked and functioned like a normal city except... these people...well I wasn't even sure if some of them were people! Everyone was walking, floating, running, skipping, hopping, going left and right, up and down, all across this place. Some of them looked normal, others didn't look the same, some looked like half animals. What was I going to do? I didn't even know who to approach! "Attention all pixels and design bases, remember that further updates will be available this day at 7 p.m. Further news we thank every franchise for giving us the latest land updates and allowing them to improve our home. Students of VGH, please remember to attend all classes to receive all your credits. All of you must be eligible to become official characters or side people. Have a nice evening and more will come tomorrow!" a robotic woman voice announced out loud to the crowd of civilians.
Everyone was smiling and laughing as they continued to walk across the land. That's when I knew I would just have to race in and hope for the best. As I ran, I noticed a lot of things were similar to video game culture. A motivational sign for NPCs (None player characters) and another for Supporting all the villains in the place. Then there were restaurants of all sorts of foods, drinks, and supplies of food for different organisms. Shops for clothes, weapons, and power ups. Everything regular people could want. But this wasn't for regular people. I looked around and saw there were sections for different ones. Good guys, bad guys, everyone, and animals. This was a nightmare and a dream at the same time. I ran a little bit faster now, trying to dodge everyone's path so I wouldn't be rude. But before I could get away completely, I crashed into someone, or something, that happened to be coming my way.
We both tumbled to another part of the street and finally stopped rolling elsewhere. After my head stopped spinning, I saw who it was, and I almost screamed. It was Tails! You know, that yellow, two-tailed fox! Oh my gosh! This can't be happening! "Oof... I am so sorry! I wasn't really watching where I was going! Are you ok?" he asked as he looked at me. I couldn't speak for some reason. "Um, is everything cool?" he asked again. "Y-Yeah I'm fine. It's just that I didn't think I'd ever get to see one of my favorite video game characters! This is awesome!" I cheered as I hopped up. But I maintained myself as I helped him up. "Uh, pleasure to meet you too! But, everyone's met me, so I'm assuming your new. That's really cool! What franchise are you from?" he asked happily. Franchise? Oh gosh. How was I going to explain that I didn't even belong here! "W-Well, you see, I-I'm not actually from around here. I-It's kind of hard to explain-" I began but suddenly he walked behind me. "Oh, I knocked your bag over, I'm sorry! I'm so clumsy!" he apologized and picked up my bag. Before I could do anything, the crystal fell out from the side of it and landed at his feet. Tails looked down, picked it up, and looked to me. "Where'd you get this from?" he asked fearfully. "I-I found it, in my world! T-To be honest I thought it was just a rare diamond or crystal! I-I swear I don't know what it is!" I stuttered fearfully and blocked my face.
Scared of what he might do, I looked back at him but he didn't seem threatened by me. "So, you aren't from around here?" he asked again. "N-No I'm not." I replied calmly. "And you aren't all made from here?" he added. "Nope, just by my two parents! No coding here." I smiled and trying to relax a little. He observed me a little more before looking at the crystal. "You better come with me, just to be safe!" he told me before grabbing my wrist. "Hey, wait! Can't you tell me about what's happening?" I asked as he just randomly took me places. "Oh, sorry! I'm just gonna take you to my place so you can be safe there for now! I mean, word will get out eventually but I think it's best if you don't get bumbarded with hundreds of questions yet. What's your name?" he explained as we went through the town. "O-Oh, I'm Derrick! I don't know how I made it here, but this is so crazy!" I replied still hanging onto him.
"That's so cool! Well don't worry about it! I'm sure we can figure out how to get you home. Just come with me to stay safe, who knows how long you might be here for!" Tails added before we approached another part of town. We flew around some more before making it to a workplace where he stopped and we walked inside. The place was huge and I couldn't believe this was an actual characters house! "Make yourself at home! I'm going to check out this crystal you have!" Tails told me and I decided to check this place out. This workshop looked better in person! "Woah! This place is huge!" I gasped as I looked around. There were so many inventions that I haven't even seen in the movies or games. Everything was so cool! Who knows how long it took to make all these inventions. "Tails, this place is awesome!" I cheered and raced around the place more. "Thank you! I worked hard on them! Why don't you come over here and sit down." he replied.
I obeyed and sat down on the bench he set up on the bench, and sat a glass of water next to me. "Ok Derrick, I'm trying to figure out how you got here in the first place. Just try to answer my questions to the best of your ability! I'll be here taking notes!" he replied before placing a device next to my glass of water. He pushed a button and then opened a fresh page. "Alright, first question. Where did you find this crystal?" Tails asked me first. "Well back in my home, I was in this park where there was a pond, and I saw something shining. I approached it and I took it out of the water and looked at what it was. It used to be pink before now but, after falling down this hole. But then it turned black when I hit the ground." I replied. "Alright. So what happened before you got here?" "Well, the crystal began to glow and it blinded my view to where I couldn't see anything. I started falling and well, now I'm here being interviewed!" "Haha! Don't worry, I won't be long! After falling through that weird portal, where'd you fall?" "I fell right near the grassy area outside of town, but other than that I'm not sure exactly where I was. I decided to come into to town to try and find some help. And now, here we are!"
Tails smiled and finished his notes before pushing a button on the recorder. "Well, I'll still have to do some research on this thing but maybe we can get you back to your home!" he told me. "I would hope so! I'm scared if my parents are looking for me right now! I don't want them to think that I'm hurt or anything!" I cried realizing what I did about that stupid crystal. "Hey, don't worry! I'm sure it'll all work out! I'll let you stay here for the night. It gets really crazy at night here! But don't worry, we'll get you home."
