Chapter 19

The thing that happened when I first came into my friends' world repeated itself all over again. I crashed and swirled through the loophole that took me back to my world. It took a little bit. "AHHH!" I screamed as I made my way to the end. It spit me out and I crashed onto the ground with a huge ground. I groaned and rolled over to one side. To my shock, my bicycle was still there waiting for me in the last place I left it before being sent into that odd world. I gasped and rushed to my feet seeing some of my stuff still there in one place. I still had my backpack by my side from when I made it back.

"YES! I made it!" I cheered. "Okay- celebrate later! Parents need me!" I said and hopped onto my bike as fast as I could. Using all of my strength, I peddled all the way home knowing my parents were probably beyond worried. Something stronger than that. Something worse most likely. I made it home and jumped off my bike and into our garage. I stumbled inside as I lost my footing from walking inside. "MOM! DAD!" I shouted. I looked everywhere. Everything still seemed in place. I looked around frantically again.

"Mom? Dad?" I cried. I heard a noise behind me. There were both my parents. "Derrick!" my mom cried, racing to embrace me. "Oh goodness! You're home!" my dad cried, also hugging me tightly. "Derrick, where have you been?!" my mom cried. "I... I don't... I don't know how to explain it. But I promise nothing bad happened. Well- not really in a way. I've had a long journey that you probably wouldn't believe anyway. I promise I didn't mean to just disappear! In fact, I missed you guys more than you realize. Are you two ok?" I asked them. They exchanged a look before beaming at me gratefully. "You always did take after your mother." my dad said softly.

My mom pulled me in for a hug and drowned me in kisses. My dad ruffled my hair until it looked wild. At one point I heard the clunk of my backpack. I pulled away from them and reached into the backpack pulling out all the gold they had given to me before I left that wonderful world. "Oh! I forgot to tell you, I found some gold on my journey while I was away! Don't ask where I got it... I don't actually know how I got it to be honest. But my friends told me they wanted me to have it so we could have more!"

Stunned my parents took the gold from my hands and just stared at it for the longest time. Then they looked at me in awe. "Derrick... This... This is so much gold!" my dad said. "Exactly! Now you can take mom on that date you've dreamed of!" I told him. They laughed for a second and then we went to the car we had, driving to our nearest pawn shop. We walked in nervously knowing people like us wouldn't have this kind of gold on our hands in this time and place. But we walked in anyway going to the counter where tons of people gathered around doing stuff. They looked up at us and smiled.

"Hello there! How are you?" she asked us. "Hi! Uh... Our son somehow came across a lot of gold. We're not sure if it's real or not but we'd like to get it looked at." my mom told her. The lady nodded and I handed over the valuables that my friends had given me. The lady inspected it and eventually even asked for the help of the others at the counter. They looked over each inch of the gold and looked at us surprised. "Um, so we have mostly good news! The big part is, you've got over eight million dollars worth of odd-looking gold right here! The other thing is that our store doesn't have that kind of money in here. So I'm giving you the number to a referral!" the woman told us as she wrote on a card.

She handed it to my parents and they still stood there in shock knowing how we just had everything settled right here from a ton of gold from my friends. "Oh my goodness... This is going to change everything. Derrick you... you've changed everything!" my mom said excitedly. They talked with the people at the pawnshop and then we got back in the car and drove somewhere else. At the new location, my parents talked to a bunch of people about our gold. When they were finished, my parents were overjoyed with all sorts of emotions. I doubt they could even explain it. All I knew was that it must've been incredibly over the top because the next thing I knew we were spending the night in this five-star hotel.

From there my parents were discussing many things about what our future would be like very soon. We had a good dinner and for the first time in forever, I felt full! I was so happy to finally be able to see my parents eat something. I sighed and threw myself onto the bed then burped loudly feeling the comfort food settling in. That's when I recalled my backpack that had everything else that my friends had given to me. I rolled over to grab it from the other side and opened it up. Inside were the many photos we took before I left, small tokens they had given to me from trips, and my old school supplies. At the top, I found little letters from them and read every single one, smiling as I read each word.

Just as I reached into the bag for something else, I noticed a mystery item at the bottom. Curious and confused, I reached the bottom and pulled it out. It took me a minute to figure out what it was but then It took my slow self to realize it was an envelope. There was something stuffed inside of it for sure though. I opened it up and it revealed there to be a Freddy Fazebear watch. Huh... I don't remember Freddy handing this to me. Maybe he put it in my bag when I wasn't looking. I better see what this letter says. I took it out and read the following.

Derrick, we appreciate everything you've done for us. We cannot thank you enough throughout this time! We hope you've made it home to the place you talk about. I wanted to send you something for allowing me to express myself in a new era for my newest game. The watch I have given you in your bag is ONLY usable to you. Use it wisely. I wanted to give it to you so you could contact some of your friends. With your new digital blood inserted within you, Lyric believes it is possible for you to return to our world. We'll be happy to see you that day. Only come when you feel ready. This watch will give you further instructions. We miss you young Derrick. Stay safe for us.

Reading his note made me smile and I immediately opened up my watch to find endless messages in my watch with friend requests and characters or icons wanting to chat or play games with me on the get-go.

Accepting every single one, I laid down and allowed myself to relax knowing that life was just about to get good.
