The Knight drunkenness was evident when the raven haired boy returned with Charlotte by his side helping carrying the tankards of mead.

"Say Merlin, are there any ladies that take your fancy at the moment" Gwaine blurted out as Merlin sat down.

"One or two" the boy smirked as he looked towards a blushing Charlotte. But it was an exchange which went unnoticed by all the Knights except Percival.

"Your friends have been enlightening us about your past endeavours, seems you are quite the charmer aren't you?" Arthur now stated.

Oh no, the Warlock sighed inwardly, as he looked to his King, whose face was stern or at least it looked that way to a drunken Merlin. "It's not what you think, honestly Arthur, I swear it ended a long time ago" The boy began to ramble on, his face became a picture of terror.

"Whoa whoa Merlin calm down" The blonde raised his hand in surrender.

"You're not mad?" The warlock practically stuttered.

"Why would I be mad?"

"You know...." Merlin moved a bit closer to his King as if no one else could hear them even though they could "... about me and Gwen."

Arthur's eye widened in anger.

"They didn't tell you about that did they? Oh no..." The boy said in realisation.

The clogs were turning behind Arthur's eyes: 'they became close when he first arrived in Camelot' 'he is fond of her... still is if you ask me' 'they are still are very VERY close' 'she is married' 'anyone we know?' 'I should say so'.

Without so much of a warning the King dived over the table, causing both him and Merlin to topple to the floor. Arthur pinning the boy to the ground, his fists clenching at the Raven's tunic.

The Knights quickly got to their feet but yet did not try and take their King away from the boy. Perhaps it was the alcohol making them lax or maybe it was because internally they were laughing so hard they wanted to see how this turned out.

"Arthur listen to me, It was along time ago..." Merlin pleaded.

"You kissed my Wife!" The blonde returned, his grasp on the boys clothing getting tighter as he restrained from hitting his friend.

"HE DID A LOT MORE THAN KISS HER!" A random drunken man from the back of the tavern shouted whilst chuckling. The entire tavern had took to watching this exchange between the manservant and his master.

The warlock scrunched his face up, at the words of the man, it wasn't a lie, but boy was that statement going to make things a whole lot worse.

The King's eyes were now exploding with anger, if Merlin didn't do something soon he would get a right hook to the face. And so with all his (limited) strength he managed to somehow roll over so that he was now pinning Arthur down.

"It's not what you think" The Raven once again pleaded.

"Oh it's exactly what I think" Arthur clapped back, easily getting free from Merlin's grip.

The pair were now stood opposing each other, the blonde stealthily forwarding closer towards Merlin.

"It was a long time ago!" The Warlock pleaded.

Arthur threw a mug at his servant, which the boy ducked out of the way just in time. Still taking steps backwards as the King stalked him like a Lion would it's prey.

"You hardly even knew she existed then."

Another goblet.

"She wasn't your friend never mind your wife!"
