"Arise Sir Merlin." Arthur placed his sword on either side of Merlin's shoulders.

Caden raised his head to look up at the King , whose face had a slight smirk in preparation of the next words...

"Knight of Camelot."

Caden return the smile before he stood up and turned around to face the crowd behind him, the room was full of people, nobles and servants alike who all began to cheer for their friend

The red in the room had never felt more homey than it did right now, his fellow knights wore the crimson with pride whilst his mother, Gaius and Charlotte stood by the big Camelotian flag. This was his home now, the smiles belonged to his family and friends.

Arthur looked to Gwen, a proud smile on his face before he stepped down a step to be on the same platform as Merlin.

"Now the real fun begins." The King spoke so only the raven could hear him. Merlin looked to the blonde at the side of him, Arthur had a mischievous grin laced on his face which the boy felt compelled to return, before looking back out to his friends and fellow knights who still cheered in celebration.

After the knighting ceremony, the King, along with the Queen , Lady Hunith, Gaius and Merlin, went out onto the balcony overlooking the courtyard of the castle, where the entire city had crowded to hear the official announcement that Merlin was alive and in Camelot.

It was explained that he had no memory of his previous life and that he wasn't being rude if he did not remember their names, that it was a work in progress and the King, Queen and physician were doing everything in their power to ensure that Merlin would get his memories back but until then Arthur asked for people to have patience with the new knight.

Unlike most knighting ceremonies which are concluded with a feast amongst nobles and knights, Gwen had instead arranged a celebration for the entire kingdom. There would be a large banquet, and entertainment with music.

There wasn't a smile absent from the celebration as full hearted laughs a pictures of joy filled the kingdom. Small fires lit the street, candles provided light on the tables of food. Many people came up to Caden and introduced themselves and told him a story or two of fond memories they had of Merlin. Caden listened with intrigue, the stories all sounded great, he really had helped these people and yet he couldn't remember any of it. He had even stopped getting his dreams of the kingdom, it was like his mind had had stopped trying to remember. But none the less the boy listened as well as he could in attempt not to seem rude to his old friends.

Leon had arrived just in time to save him from what felt like the one hundredth story,

"I'm sorry to interrupt, but I need to have a word with Merlin." The knight had spoke respectfully to the villagers.

Knowing full well that Leon was the highest ranking knight and the most dutiful, the villagers gave no opposition and nodded politely.

Leon nodded for Merlin to follow him, which the raven did gratefully,
"Thank you, I'm not sure I could have listened to another story of me climbing onto their roofs to fix a leak or helping them farm their lands." The boy chuckled as the pair reached the table of drinks.

The were no servants on duty tonight, everyone was to celebrate, so Leon went to pour both himself and Merlin a drink. Passing the now full goblet to Merlin, the knight began to speak,
"You mean a lot to them, you helped every single person here." Leon gestured for the raven to look out at all the joyful people around. The taller knight looked down at the younger knight as he still watched the crowd enjoy themselves.
"Myself included." Leon continued causing Merlin to meet his gaze as he looked up.
