"I'm heading out, Mila. Love You, there's some extra money on the counter." My mom called from the kitchen, as I was doing my simple daily makeup.

"Love you, mom. That's fine, you can buy lunch, today." I call back, knowing she doesn't make that much money.

"Thanks, hon. Bye. Don't be late for school." My mom went out the door.

My name is Simone Camila Miller. 16 years old. My mom calls me by my middle name, everyone does. There's only one exception, Leo Foster. He lives in apartment above us.. He moved in with his sister-in-law, and his neice, before high school started. His brother died in the army, leaving behind his wife and daughter. Gorgeous was my first impression of Leo. It's stupid, I know. I'm a poor dorky kinda girl. He's been my one of my best friends since he moved here. He's cute, but I don't like him in that way. He's a pro when it comes to football, but refused to tryout for the school's team.

I start getting ready for school, putting on a pair of black jeans, before I hear a tap on my window. I open my window, and let Leo in, who came down the fire escape stairs. His room is directly above mine. I throw on a white sweatshirt, over the white tank top that I'm already wearing. I put on white sneakers.

"Whatever so happened with you and Bethany?" I asked him, as he sat down on my swiveling chair.

"She thinks me and you are dating, and also with Destiny, I gave a hug to Destiny yesterday, so she's over her head. She broke up with me. She got to Hector, who broke up with Destiny. Bethany and Hector has something going on now. But I'm fine, aren't I?" Leo grinned.

"Us? Never in a lifetime. But.. is this why she thinks that?" I go up behind him, tilting his head back, and kissed him on the lips. "Lock Up, please!" I throw him my keys, as they jingle. He catches them, but is still in awe.

I left him alone in my room, and I walked to school. Adelaine waited for me, in front of my locker. She stares at me, confusedly.

"What?" I ask, as I started opening my locker. She couldn't have heard of the kiss already. It didn't even mean anything.

"Where's Leo? He comes with you every morning." Adelaine looks at me.

"Don't know. Either in my apartment or on his way to school." I shrugged.

"What happened?" She asks.

"He hugged Destiny, and you know how we walk to school, everyday? So, Bethany thinks he's cheating with all of us! Then, before I left, I kissed him and he was shocked." I told Adelaine.

"Wow, okay then. You like him, now?"

"I wouldn't say 'like him' but I don't really know. The kiss felt nice, but I'm not attracted to him."

"You're attracted to him. If I wasn't dating a girl, I would go out with him, when I got the chance. He's gorgeous."

"I know, since the first day. But it never became a crush kinda thing."

"If you say so. Let's go to class."

We go way back, she was my fraternal twin. When we were little, my father used to make us do drugs, and he'd rape us. If we reported this, he'd threaten to kill us. Adelaine was terrified, and ran away, also became lesbian. No hate, please. She has a foster family, now. Her second foster family. She ran away few years ago. My father left with another woman, before high school started. We were all glad. My mom was terrified, never had the nerve to confront him. They had me and Adelaine, but were never got married. Adelaine and I promised each other we'd go here for school, we wrote letters back and forth since she ran away, but we see each other, now.
