We had just gotten out of the court. My mom had custody of Adelaine, but her foster parents still had partial custody. Her foster dad was keeping their house for his new family, the woman he knocked up. Her foster mom went to live with her new boyfriend.
"Oh my god, I'm so excited. Should we hire a moving truck?" My mom asked.
"No, my foster dad already did. He's helping with the move." Adelaine said.
"Be glad we have an extra room. I'll just clean it up, and move the shelves out." My mom responded.
"No, it's fine, really. The shelves aren't that big. If you don't have space for it, then keep them there. It won't bother me. I don't have a lot of stuff." Adelaine said. We spent the rest of the day moving all her stuff into the extra room we had. I ordered three pizzas, for everyone who helped move. The workers left, and Adelaine's foster dad said goodbye and went home.
"Okay, Adelaine and Mila share the main bathroom. I have my own bathroom in my room, haha." My mom laughed. "You both need to start getting a job, I can't pay all your expenses, both of you."
"I know, mom. Calm your butthole." I said. "I'm doing the last of my volunteer hours at the school library, during my studies. Then after school, I'll go work at the diner. I just need to apply for that."
"Okay, Mila. Adelaine, what are you going to do?" My mom asked.
"I already finished all of my volunteer hours, and I already have a job after school, I work at the animal shelter. We basically just assign them to cages, and all that stuff." Adelaine said.
"You see, Mila? She's the good twin. You're the terrible twin." My mom teased. Adelaine laughed.
"She is, you've gotta admit." I chuckled.
"You know it, Mila. Adelaine, have you see your grandparents, Riley, and Jasmine, yet?" My mom questioned.
"Oh no, I've been meaning to, but I haven't had the chance to stop by."
"Well, they will be glad to see you, I know Riley's waiting for you." My mom responded.
"I forgot to say this, my medical insurance and that stuff is still done by my dad. Also, my phone bill, I pay my own, you don't need to worry about that." Adelaine said. "I can help pay the water bill and all that, as well."
"Mila, you've got to start acting like her." My mom laughed. "But, no, I've got the bills, you can continue paying your own phone bill, if you wish. You live under my roof, I'm paying the bills, and all that."
"There's only one good twin, but I will." I responded. I got up to put the pizza boxes in the recycle chute, in the hallway.
"Okay, you girls go do your thing. Marie, Riley and I are going to do womanly things." My mom laughed. I took a shower, and changed into black leggings, and a denim button up shirt, with black sneakers. Adelaine took a shower, and took a nap. I went up to Leo's room. He was listening to music on his beats headphones.
"I haven't seen you all day." He said. He put his headphones around his neck.
"I know, I was busy helping Adelaine move into our extra room." I said. He kissed me. We hung out in his room, for awhile. Adelaine texted me when she woke up.
"I'll be back later." I said, kissing him.
"Where you going?" Leo asked.
"I'm going to take Adelaine to my grandparents." I said. I went back down to my room. Adelaine and I went to see my grandparents. Jazzy opened the door for us.
"Hey, Jazzy. This is Adelaine, twin sister."
"Oh my god, I've heard so much about you. Come in." Jazzy said. We walked into the living room, where Joey and Frankie were playing with Legos. My grandparents were watching tv. My grandma glanced up.
