The next morning the couple was woken up by a knock at the door. Kailey groaned slightly, pushing away from Luka and crawling out of the covers to go see who the Hell was knocking at the door at this time. The sun had barely risen for crying out loud.

She opened the door, ready to scold whoever was standing outside but all words left her mind when she saw James staring down at her, looking about as uncomfortable as she now felt.

"Good morning Kailey..." He muttered, trying his best to sound polite.

"Um... Yeah... Good morning," She mumbled back, keeping her gaze pointed at the floor.

"Is there a reason why you're still in your dress from last night?" He asked, glancing down at it.

"Oh I just didn't change last night, I was too tired..." She said, still avoiding his gaze.

"Right... Well you should get changed then, we were planning on training today to get a head start in case Malix comes back. I came to check if you- and Luka-" He gestured towards Luka's half asleep form, still splayed across Kailey's bed, "-wanted to come join us in training,"

"Do you think that'd really be the best idea?" She asked warily, unsure of how to touch on the subject.

"If you're worried about how everyone will react after what happened last night, you shouldn't be. Eliana you are still our sister, no matter what you said. Everything is going to be Ok..." He said, smiling down at her.

Finally she met his gaze and the love in his eyes made her smile. Even after that he still cared about her. It was nice even if she did feel it was undeserved...

"Yeah... Yeah Ok, we'll come join you guys in a sec, just gimme some time to wake up Mr Sloth over there and we'll be right down," She said, a lot more calm then before.

James huffed a quiet laugh, muttering a 'Good luck' before walking away, allowing Kailey to close the door behind him.

Kailey crept over to the bed and knelt beside it so she was eye level with Luka. He looked so peaceful whilst he slept, it was a shame she had to wake him up. Still though, it was necessary.

She reached forwards to gently shake him awake but before her hand could reach him he mumbled out: "So am I gonna get a good morning kiss or are you just gonna keep staring at me?" A slight smirk graced his lips as he spoke, lighting up his eyes as they fluttered open.

God he was gorgeous.

She fought the laugh that tried to escape her throat and instead plastered a playful smirk on her own face, gently flicking his nose as she said "No kiss for you" and promptly stood to grab some clothes.

He let out a whine that was almost childish and this time Kailey couldn't resist laughing. She turned back and grinned at his pouting face.

"Hush, you big baby. No kiss for you, you were far too impolite" She said, teasing him slightly. His frown only deepened and she sighed. "Fine. Because you're so adorable I'll let you have a good morning cuddle instead of a kiss," She said, huffing as though it were an inconvenience.

Luka grinned, almost instantly getting up and reaching Kailey, wrapping his arms tightly around her. She giggled and wrapped her arms around his waist, burying her head in his shoulder.

"How are you feeling?" He asked, all traces of joy now replaced by a gentle wariness.

"I'm Ok..." She lied. If she were completely honest she was utterly terrified of seeing her brothers again, despite James's reassurance. Still though, she wasn't going to bother Luka with all that.
