Chapter 21

"Kyle, what happened! I told you-" Jake stopped mid-sentence when he remembered the vermin and Anna were in the room.

"Yes sir why did I do wrong, this time?" Kyle replied

Gritting his teeth, Jake choked out "We will talk about this later now we have other business to attend to."

Jake look from the vermin to Anna then back to Kyle. His already boiled temper was starting to get to him, he was ready to destroy Kyle and was resisting the urge to kill him. Kyle and Jake were in a head on staring contest each one testing each other's limit. Anna had enough the staring contest had already wasted plenty of her minutes that should be worth helping Nico. He was turning pale the pain in his leg was starting to get to him.

"Enough. Kyle, Jake stop. You need to tell me why the rebels" Anna put air quotes around rebels, " are trying to get me, why Andrew almost killed me in the air ship, and why I am in this many ridicules freakin' stair building!"

Jake and Kyle both snapped their heads in Anna's direction when she started talking when she finished they made one last look back at their opponent. Kyle let out a huff and stopped his ongoing contest with Jake and looked at the clock. Crap I have to leave.

"Fine. Jake. But know this isn't over."

Looking over to Anna before he left flashbacks rush to him. Her first day with him, when she started to ride a bike, when she raced that kid next door, when she got her first power how happy and proud she was that day and finally when she had to leave and all her memory's of her time with Kyle gone but not fully disappeared. Kyle vowed at that moment he wouldn't let anything happen to Anna even if he had to risk his own life to save hers. He pulled himself from those thoughts and spoke to Jake.

"I have to go"

"Take that vermin with you, can you do that without messing up...again?"

Gritting his teeth Kyle replied back "Ya Jake and I'm the only one who messes up do I need to remind you of that time-"

"Enough go!"

Smirking Kyle help Nico to his feet and they made their way to the door. When they passed Jake Kyle whispered to him "You should tell her."

Jake didn't get the chance to reply cause Kyle teleported away. Jake took a deep breath in and focused his attention to Anna. His mind went over and over again thinking of ways to tell Anna but in the end telling the truth was far from what he instead on saying. Awhite lie never hurt anyone Jake thought.

"Alright Anna come with me. I am going to explain everything to you."

"Where are we going, we just got here why do I need to go somewhere else?"

"Cause this isn't the right place to talk it's being evacuated. We are going to the other station to talk."

Anna hesitated she had a feeling something was wrong and not only going to another place but not having Nico here someone she can rely on when something bad happens. Jake gave an uneasy feeling to Anna but she dismissed it... but never forgot about it. It traveled with her as they made their way to the other station. The other station was twice the number of levels as the other and look more grand on the outside unlike the other which look like it's seen one to many years.

Before she could get out of the car a man wearing a black suit and dark sun glasses came and opened the door for her and Jake. The inside had one reception desk with a lady sitting behind it, she had a bun that looked uncomfortably painful, she was dressed just like the man who open the door for her,she wore two silver earrings, and had librarian glasses.

To the left were waiting chairs that look just as uncomfortable as the lady bun. To the right were three elevators and one stair case. The lady gave a curt nod to Jake and buzzed Anna and Jake to go into one of the elevators. Apparently it was remote control elevator, who knew. In the elevator it was about as much tension as the car ride to the building, which was a limo!

Anna inside the elevator thought about what Jake was going to tell her as she counted the number of what level they were on going by slowly. Jake on the other hand was think of lies and every lie turn out better than the last. It got to the point were he didn't even need to think of anymore and a smirk crawled onto his face.

Finally the elevator doors opened revealing two doors, one on the right and one to the left. Jake made his way to the door to right and put his hand to the middle of the door. Anna looked more closely at the door and realized there were no handles at all. At that same moment the door opened wide and inside was not like any office building she has been to. In Jake's office instead of walls he had windows that looked out to the entire city.

In the middle of the room was a solo desk with gold lining the edges, to the left was a mini bar with all the snacks and drinks ever made, there were some Anna didn't even know but it tasted good. To the right were files and files of cases solved and unsolved. There were also hologram computers everything was floating and touchscreen just like in the movies. Everything in the room was thousand time better than the ones on earth. After gaping at everything and eating a ...few snacks Anna sat at the chair opposite of Jake.

"So where do I begin, well for starters I will start will earth."

"Why earth aren't we on earth right now?"

"No we aren't we are in earth we are on another planet."

"A-another planet but it seems so much like earth only cleaner."

"Yes, earth it's an experiment our-"

"Experiment??"

"Yes our scientist created earth to find ways to improve this planet-"

"Created!?"

"Can I continue without being interrupted please."

"Yes I'm sorry" Anna said. A thousand thoughts ran through out her mind thinking about earth and all the times she felt out place, some things were slowly coming together for Anna.

"Earth isn't real. Those people are used to find out more data. Those aliens," jake motioned his hands into quotes when he said aliens, "are actually our people helping out we used to go a lot before they started capturing us.

"Earth wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for us. The Goldie locks zone is were earth is, the rest of the planets near earth are failed attempts. Humans use ten percent of their brain that's all we give them. More and then they will know about our planet and that their planet isn't real.

"Sadly that's were the rebellion started not only is it used for experiments but people who caused a terrible crime get banished there. The first person was from this planet more people came and that's how humans were started."

"But if they came from here wouldn't they have more knowledge-"

"No before a person is banished they have their memories wiped. They are only left with basic skills."

"How do I come into this?"

"Well you see your parents aren't really your parents. They are soldiers that looked after you-"

"What! So I live with those people and they weren't even my real mom or dad. That explains why I'm so different!! Wait, then who is my real mom and dad?"

Jake smirked in his head and tried to hide it from showing on his face. My last lie today then we will leave for my house Jake thought.

"Your mom was killed in a rebellion assault."

Anna sat down again when she heard the news pain gripped her heart. The rebellion took her mom, now they are going to pay for what they did Anna thought. Having found out that the people she lived with weren't her parents was hard but a part of her already knew she wasn't their child. She was always different her mood, her hair, and the way she acted. Once someone asked her at school if she was adopted. Now knowing she was right only to be told her mom was died. Tears spilled out her eyes. At that moment Kyle walked in.

Jake couldn't hold his smirk back anymore. Kyle walked in at the right time and was prefect for the final lie of the day. He got up and thrust out his hand to Kyle.

"But your father survived, Anna this is your father, Kyle."
