Chapter 25

Nico charged the giant new energy was pumping through his veins it seemed like everlasting fuel. His sword was glowing with a dark aura around it waiting for the battle to begin. The giant looked at the boy with surprise and fear, the sword seemed familiar to him. When it started to glow and the boy grew to the giant height did the giants worst fear come true. Raven, the destroyer of evil, defender of darkness balance, and partner of The Phoenix has come back. But it was impossible they were dead just mere legends. No one knew where the weapons were or even if the two guardians were really gone. But here was this boy with the weapon he didn't look like the old guardians then that would mean they have finally found someone to bestow their power again.

Nico was growing to the giant height though he never stop he stride purposely letting the giant see him come to him no surprise attack would be happening this time. This time it was the giant who was run in fear of him. Not even fighting back the giant tried to run away from Nico but no success Nico was now the same to the giant. His sword grew with him ready to be used at any second. A simmering glow radiated around Nico little did he know the guardian Raven was helping him giving him another set of his powers. The giant raised his club up ready to defend his hopeless battle while Nico merely started walking again to the giant. That's when Raven started to talk. Giving Nico even more of a shimmery look.

"From my slumber I have risen. The destroyer of evil, defender of darkness balance, and Guardian partner of The Phoenix has risen again to restore what is lost. When this is over and you go back to reform spread the word to all to wants to disturbed the balance the Guardians Raven and Phoenix are back!" Raven voice mixed with Nico yelled to the giant before decapitating its head from his body.

The shimmer around Nico started to disappear as he was shrinking back to his original form. Once he was below the trees safety he collapsed to the floor the power surged drained him of his energy. Leaning against the tree tusk he thought over what he had said when he was in giant form, Me a guardian? And who is Phoenix?- he was brought out of his thoughts when a piercing scream echoed throughout his head.

A pang of fear was felt in his heart he knew that voice - it was Anna. But how can hear her in my head? It didn't matter then he jump from his spot on the ground his tiredness long forgotten. It felt as if a tug in his gut wanted him to head west he couldn't understand why but he followed with speed. The tug got stronger and stronger as he ran across the tree tops then suddenly the trees stopped it was as if the land had forgot to put more land only thing passed the last tree was a bottomless abyss and a misty cloud. Nico could feel Anna on the other side still in pain, in his mind he could feel her getting weaker. Not caring about the consequence Nico backed up then went full sprint to the ledge and with a powerful jump off the ledge he soared through the air hopefully to see Anna on the end.

The pain that's all she felt. The fire didn't burn her it absorbed into her body but the flames held dangers, held the failure if she didn't succeed, held the fears of her mind, and held the cries of the people in pain all through the galaxies. Grasping her head she begged pleaded for it to stop for all of the images to be gone from her mind. Anna didn't recognized that her surrounding have changed she wasn't in her old bedroom she was in an ashen desert. The ashen sand seemed to go to for miles and miles not knowing where it should stop its journey. Monsters she fought in her old bedroom were starting to form from the ashen sand. Each one looking like people she saw in her mind.

The images started to get faster and faster more and more came and went each one holding a new pain. Tears streamed down her face as the monster steadily kept growing. Through the chaos she heard a women voice it was the one she heard when she was in her old bedroom "Release the pain its not yours to suffer from. Release them only then will it stop." Slowly Anna drew herself form each of the images; the women gentle voice helping her through when she was gonna stop the voice encouraged her to continue.

Then it was gone. No images, no pain, no more monsters forming. They weren't forming but the monsters stared at Anna on her knees thinking if she was a threat or friend. She had an aura of a friend but had a scent of a threat. The monsters got reassurance that she was a threat when Anna looked up her eyes no longer there caramel brown they were fiery flames dancing in her eyes. Her sword started to glow and so did Anna body as she raised from her spot on the ground. Looking around there were monsters by the thousands all looking at her with hate induced with fear. The fear only grew when Nico fell from the sky and landed by Anna.

Anna and Nico body started glowing Anna's a red sunset and Nico's a charcoal black. Anna took the lead and spoke to the monsters around her but her voiced was laced with the women voice, the old Phoenix Guardian. "I have risen from my ashes. Cast yours eyes on the defender of lights balance, defeater of evils and monsters alike, and guardian partner of The Raven. No longer will you feast on others fear we have returned and we will bring balance again throughout the galaxies. Any who oppose us will fall from our swords. The Guardians Raven and Phoenix have returned!"

Once the last word was spoken both Nico with shimmer of the Raven around him and Anna with the shimmer of the Phoenix around her jumped into the battle the odds didn't affect their mind, their will to defeat those of evil power drove them to defeat the monsters who threaten the balance.

"Jake!" Kyle yelled as he stormed into the office.

"What" Jake called irritated

"Where is Anna? I know one your men took her so where is she!"

"She safe." he replied

Kyle threw his hands in the air, "I don't know how I last this long with you. Anna better be here soon if not Jake find yourself another partner. This has gone on too long I'm loyal but all you ever give me is this crap," Kyle walked the desk and stared straight into Jake eyes," if she not back here soon I will leave and we both know without me your plan will fail."

It was Jake's turn to stand now," She safe and will be back. For you to leave is ridiculous I told you that she is-"

Jake didn't get to continue as a beeping noise came from one the holograms. Turning to move over there Jake answered the call. When it turned on it showed the building where Anna was beginning kept at but now it was in flames. The windows broken, the industry barely able to stand up right, and people flooded from the building some with minor injuries and others with major ones. After the over sweep of the area his eyes darted to Kyle, he was staring at it wondering in which sector it was coming from. Turning back to the screen he spook to the man who called.

"What is this"

"S-sir, the building is in bad form-"

"I can see that!"

"Sh-sh-she gone"

Kyle head snapped towards the man slowly but threateningly he walked over to the hologram.

"Who is gone." Kyle said deadly calm.

"A-Anna"
