Chapter 18

"Hurry up, by this time Kyle would have already been there!"

"Ye-yes sir"

"You there put this ship into over drive, we are going to be at the planet no more than tomorrow sunrise."

All the men and women in that room nodded but one though no one noticed. The woman who didn't nodded slowly made her way to the exit trying hard not to draw attention to herself. It didn't work Jake called her out right when she made it to the door.

"You there, where are you going?!"

"To the medic room"

"Why? Your job is here! When we get to the planet then you may get your break, now get back to work!"

"I can't-"

"Why not!"

"I-I need to go to the medic room to-"

"Enough! Back to your station or your job and or life will be done for. Have I made myself clear"

"Yes"

"Yes what"

"Yes sir"

"Good, now go!"

A frown came to her face with anger and hatred sparking in her heart as she went back to her position. Jake too grew even more angered then he already was. First the Anna falling then Andrew bloodily state and that little vermin Nico is gone as well and now this no one here wants to listen.

Leaving the room he headed to his quarters. As he walked he thought of his next move, unaware a camera followed his every move. His thoughts were his only focus he was so focus he didn't hear his name being called out.

"Jake!!"

Turning to the person who introupted his train of thought. He sigh it was that same annoying girl from the tech room. what's her name oh yes Jessica

"What is that you need, Jessica"

"Nothing just a word with you"

"Fine what is it"

With a smirk from Jessica a syringe with greenish liquid inside was being hold in her left hand. She stopped, she was fifteen steps to where Jake stood now. He eyed the syringe then slowly made his way to meet her eyes. They just showed hate, pure hate towards the man in front of her. Just from the look in her eye he knew she from the enemy, from the vermins, the rebellion. How did she go unnoticed, as soon as I make it to headquarters I am upping the security.

"What do you want"

"Simple for you to die."

"Your crazy if you think you can take me down. Who spent you, the rebellion I suppose"

"Rebellion?You would wish for them but no someone else"

"Not the rebellion?"

Jake tried to keep the conversation going to stall before the elites come to help him. By looks of it the conversation is dying down. If only my powers weren't suspended. I would put this girl in check, thrown her out the door and down to the ground with that green liquid in her neck but no I am trying to think of an idea to continue the conversation.

Jessica moved forward fast almost too fast for Jake, she jump on the side of the wall and aimed the syringe for jake neck. Seconds before she put the greenish liquid in his neck Jake felt his power come back it was rush but he knew it was for only a moment. That's what the powers do when in danger they break free from their chains to help keep their host alive but once they are not in danger anymore the powers go away to where they hind,chained waiting to be release again.

Using his lighting speed jake grab her wrist in midair centimeters from his neck. His strength on her wrist kept her in midair slowly moving his head to face her. They made eye contact she had a frown on her face but she had fear glowing in her eyes. Jake had a smirk and revenge in his eyes. Still holding onto her wrist with one hand he threw her to the ground but still had his hold on her hand. Then jake kicked her arm breaking it , her screams pierced thru the hallways but no came to save her everyone was in the mess hall or tech room.

Doing a 360 degree turn with Jessica in tow jake threw Jessica to the wall with such force when she hit you could hear the snap of ribs and again when she hit the ground. Jake slowly walked towards her like a lion ready to pounce on its prey. Jessica vision was blurry turning her head side to side she tried to spot the liquid it was few steps in front of her, if only she could get it in jakes neck he would die and she would know she died killing the man who killed the last of her loved ones. Moving was painful each hurt more then the last but she was determined to finish her mission.

Sensing what she was doing jake moved over to the liquid her finger tips only barely touching it before she could jake held it in his hands observing it. He crouched down so she could see the end right in her face.

"Any last words?"

Spit was the only thing that came out of her mouth and onto his shoes. Looking down to the spit he watch it spread and sink to the bottom of the shoe and onto the floor. Looking back up to see her eyes he said

"I liked those shoes"

Those were the last words she heard as jake put the syringe in her neck. Jessica face formed into a silent scream her eyes rolled back as she let out her last breath of air.

Anna gasp for air when they came out of transporting, looking to her left then right she saw Nico and that man weren't doing any better. After 10 minutes her breathing had evened out she finally talked to the man. Walking up to him he was leaning against a tree with his eyes closed.

"Um hi"

Kyle opened his eyes as he heard Anna voice. Looking at her he remembered the days he spent arguing with jake and also the days were it was actually fun babysitting her.

"Hello"

"I never got your name, my name is Anna"

"Kyle"

"Where are we?"

"You will just have to wait and see. I am waiting for someone to come before we can sent off"

"Okay then, who are you waiting for?"

"Jake"

"How long are we going to wait?"

"It shouldn't be long, he should be here soon"

"Okay"

With that said she turned around to go find Nico. He was no where to be seen, until she saw him at the top of the hill looking at the sky. Sneaking up on him Anna yelled "roar" when she was right behind him, he didn't even flinch.

"Hello Anna"

"Hey"

"You are going to have to do better than that to scare me."

"Well one day I will"

"We'll see. Come sit down"

Nico patted the spot next to him. Anna remembered when Andrew and her would do that just watch the sky until it was sundown. Tears threatened to come but she push them away and sat down next to Nico. Nico was laying down in the grass looking to the sky when he asked

"Do you ever wish life was like this everyday?"

Eyes still to the sky Anna breathe in fresh air. Then looked down to Nico and said

"Yes, more now then before"

He nodded his head. Before he could say what he wanted that man called for them to come over. Getting up they went to Kyle.

" They're here come, no time to waste. My name is Kyle" he said to Nico

"Nico"

"Alright come on"
