"Mom? What are you doing here?" I was confused by her presence in my now unstable world. "I don't have much time. You're dreaming."

"Why are you in my dream? I didn't know you have that power."

"Listen to me Aria. This is important. I know you're off doing your own thing, but right now you need to listen carefully. I'm dying. There are going to be a lot of things happening over the next couple of days. You have to go home. When I die you'll be the head of our clan. That means you have to take care of your sisters and their children."
"Mom you're not making any sense."

"I'm dying Aria! And so is Dimitri. When I pass he'll pass too. I'll try to hang on as long as I can but our end is inevitable. Adrian is missing because he can't bear the loss of his child. But there is another baby. Adrianna had a twin. He's been hiding his presence from everyone."

"Then how did you know?"

"Zaphaya." Of course. She knows everything. "Her son will be the next Oracle. There haven't been in one in over a hundred years. He has to come into this world alive. With Dimitri dying Alyssa won't care about much else. She must have this baby. Do you understand?"

"I understand."

"Also, Adrian will need to be summoned home. He won't return otherwise. To him it doesn't matter if they were twins. He's lost his daughter. They had a connection and he won't get over it that easily. He'll see the new baby as a burden and a reminder of what he's lost. As the queen of our race only your official summon will make him return. You have to do it no matter how painful it will be for him. He has to hear and obey." I nodded. This was a lot of information at one time. My mom was passing on all her knowledge to me. She was leaving the responsibility to me, like I didn't have problems of my own.

"Protect Alexis, too. She's the one I worry about the most. She's fearless and reckless. No matter what happens or what you go through, do not let her step in to save you under any circumstance. If you're near death and she's the only way to live, then die. Accept your fate. Rescuing you from any danger at all could be harmful to her and Chad's future. She must be able to bear a child. You can't stand in the way of that." Although I wasn't clear on the details, I accepted her words. Protect Alexis at whatever cost to myself. Understood.

"Nikai and Zara should never be together. He's the Tao and she's too unstable. His priority is to Alekzandier and Domnik. It will be so until he dies or they die. Sakeira is a witch. She doesn't have any active powers. Therefore she isn't a threat. And since she was Blake's first love, she'll be able to rein him in. Nathaniel will come back. There will be some friction between him, Blake and Chad. Let them sort it out themselves. And stay away from Blake. Don't push your relationship with Zane in his face. He's already been through too much because of you. On the topic of Zane...don't hate him too much." Why would I hate Zane? He's my mate. Even if he isn't here I could never hate him. "Don't go crazy either."

"Mom, you're not making any sense."

"You'll understand it when the time comes. Don't be angry with me either. I did what I thought best at the time. I'm ready for death. I'm sorry I won't get the chance to say goodbye to Alexis and Alyssa like I am to you now. But I trust you will pass on the message." I nodded.

"One more thing before I go. When I die I want Alexis to have my powers." I knew where she was going with this. "Your father has already been notified. He'll do the transfer. I know you don't like him very much, but will you be okay with seeing him?"

"I'll be fine."

"Good. I have to go now." I jerked awake instantly gasping for air. Why is it that I can never get a break from this life?
